Goku's Bride

The girl who killed the Tyrannosaurus was none other than Ox-King's daughter, Chi-Chi.

After blasting the Tyrannosaurus into pieces, Chi-Chi ran off crying.

Son Mirai, Bulma, and Goku were at the crossroads, right in her way.

Chi-Chi thought they were bad guys blocking her path and was startled again.

"Just when one thing settles down, another crops up!"

Bulma tried to talk to her, waving weakly. "Hello!"

But Chi-Chi didn't hear her at all. She covered her temples again and pressed the mechanism.

In an instant, a beam of light shot toward the three of them.

Bulma was horrified.

Luckily, Son Mirai reacted quickly. He scooped Bulma up and leaped into the air, dodging the beam.

But Goku wasn't so lucky.

The moment the beam shot out, he had only just realized he was in danger.

He did his best to dodge, avoiding a direct hit, but the blast still sent him flying.

After the explosion, Goku clutched his head and cried out in pain.

"Ow, ow, that hurts so much..."

Seeing that Son Mirai and Bulma had dodged the attack and that Goku had been hit but was still alive, Chi-Chi immediately realized they were a tough bunch.

She placed both hands over the blade's switch and asked warily, "Who are you?"

Goku got to his feet and glared at Chi-Chi angrily. "You horrible girl! Why did you hit me?"

Seeing Goku fuming, Chi-Chi sensed trouble and immediately pressed the blade's switch.

"Swish!"

The blade shot out, heading straight for Goku.

Goku was ready for it, and dodging an attack like that was no problem.

He leaped backward and rolled out of the way. Then he kicked hard, sending the blade clattering to the ground.

As Chi-Chi stared in shock, Goku suddenly charged at her and punched her in the face.

"Waaah!"

Chi-Chi shrieked and flew backward, hitting the ground and bouncing several times.

Seeing this, Bulma covered her mouth in fright.

A reckless little girl had met her match in the equally reckless Goku.

Though Chi-Chi had been sent flying, Goku still held his fighting stance, remaining on guard.

Chi-Chi didn't fight back. Instead, she clutched her swollen cheek and burst into tears.

"Waaah... Daddy, help me! Someone hit me..."

Son Goku snapped, "What are you crying for? You were the one who attacked us first!"

As soon as Chi-Chi heard him speak, she wailed even louder.

"Waaah, aaah..."

Her cries rang out through the woods...

The fight had seemed to go on for a long time, but only a few seconds had passed. Son Mirai and Bulma had only just landed after their leap.

Son Mirai hurriedly called out, "Goku, stop!"

Goku shot back, "Why?"

Son Mirai explained, "Because she's Ox-King's daughter—and your future wife..."

But before Son Mirai could finish, the pounding sound of someone running—thud, thud, thud!—drowned out the rest of his words.

The ground began to tremble violently.

Bulma jumped in fright and cried out, "What's going on? What's that sound?"

She thought another dinosaur had shown up.

But the next moment, Ox-King's booming voice rang out. "Who dares bully my daughter? Take this!"

He arrived before his axe did.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

A huge axe spun rapidly through the air toward Goku.

Goku hurriedly retreated a few steps, and the axe slammed into the ground.

In the blink of an eye, Ox-King charged over.

Seeing Ox-King's towering figure, Chi-Chi's crying stopped at once, turning into a smile.

"Daddy, you're here!"

She pointed at Son Goku and shouted, "Daddy, he's the one who hit me!"

Ox-King looked at Son Goku, then at Son Mirai and Bulma. "Who are you?

"Why have you come here, and why did you bully my daughter?"

Son Mirai didn't explain. Chi-Chi was Goku's future wife, after all. Letting him fight her once might even bring them closer.

Besides, he wouldn't get another chance later. He'd be the one getting bossed around by Chi-Chi.

Son Goku immediately protested, "I didn't bully her! She attacked us first!"

As he spoke, he raised the Power Pole, ready to fight Ox-King.

But when Ox-King saw Son Goku's Power Pole, he couldn't help staring in surprise.

"Huh? Is that the Power Pole?"

Son Goku's eyes lit up. "I know! You're Uncle Ox-King, aren't you?"

Ox-King asked, "Who are you, exactly? You look unfamiliar. How do you know me?"

Goku grinned, showing his teeth. "My name is Son Goku, and my grandpa is Son Gohan!"

"Son Gohan? He's my senior!"

"Yeah, that's right, Uncle Ox-King. Grandpa has told us about you!"

Ox-King was overjoyed. "So you're the child my senior picked up!

"Incredible—you've grown so much in the blink of an eye!

"What a mix-up! We're family, and we didn't even recognize each other!"

Seeing Ox-King recognize them, Chi-Chi blinked in surprise and looked at Goku in confusion.

"So you're not bad guys?"

"Of course not! How could I be a bad guy?" Goku said solemnly.

Chi-Chi immediately got up and apologized to Goku.

"I'm sorry. I was reckless just now!"

Ox-King looked at Son Mirai and asked, "Goku, who are these two?"

Son Mirai explained, "Hello, Uncle Ox-King.

"My name is Son Mirai. Grandpa picked me up later, and Goku and I are brothers!"

Then he turned to Bulma and introduced her to Ox-King. "This is Bulma, my girlfriend."

Ox-King exclaimed, "I knew it! I clearly remembered that my senior picked up another child later. So you've come too!"

Son Mirai nodded.

Ox-King looked Bulma over and patted Son Mirai on the shoulder,

then continued, "You're not only tall, but capable, too.

"To be so young and already have such a beautiful girlfriend—you're impressive!"

"You're too kind!" Son Mirai replied politely.

Bulma blushed shyly at the compliment.

"Uncle Ox-King, you're too kind. I'm really not that beautiful..."

She glanced at Chi-Chi and thought, I'm only a tiny bit prettier and gentler than your daughter, and a lot smarter...

Ox-King wasn't focused on Bulma. Instead, he turned to Goku.

"Goku, look at your older brother. He already has a girlfriend, but you don't. Don't you think you should find one...?"

Ox-King rubbed his hands together with a meaningful smile.

Goku blinked in confusion and asked, "Uncle Ox-King, are you going to give me a girlfriend?"

Ox-King immediately said, "Goku, girlfriends aren't something you can give someone, but it's almost the same."

He looked at Chi-Chi and said, "Look, my daughter Chi-Chi is pretty and adorable, too, and she's about your age.

"How about I promise her to you? When you grow up, she can be your bride!"

"She'll be my bride?"
