Mount Paozu.
"Grandpa, I'm back!"
Son Goku stepped off the Flying Nimbus and landed on the mountaintop.
Hearing the noise, Son Gohan came out, a bundle strapped to his back.
"Wukong, you're back. Did you finish collecting the Dragon Balls?"
"Yeah, all done!"
Wukong looked at his grandpa's bundle and asked, "Grandpa, where are you going?"
Son Gohan sized up Wukong but didn't see Sun Mo.
He asked, "Huh, didn't Sun Mo come back with you?"
"Nah, he went to take Bulma home. He'll be back later," Wukong said.
Suddenly, Son Gohan spotted the Flying Nimbus under Wukong's feet.
He couldn't help asking, "Is that the Flying Nimbus? Did you meet Master Roshi?"
Son Goku nodded. "Yeah, I did. Master Roshi gave me this Flying Nimbus.
Oh, and Master Roshi said he'd take us in for training. I'm planning to go find him, and Sun Mo's coming too.
I came back to grab my bedding."
Son Gohan smiled. "Is that so? The master actually agreed to teach you—that's wonderful.
Since you and Sun Mo are both going for training, I feel even more at ease leaving."
"Leaving to do what, Grandpa?"
Son Gohan chuckled. "With you two gone from the mountain, it'd be boring living here alone.
As it happens, I got an invitation to fire a boiler at Mount Five Elements. I hear the pay's good, so I plan to report for duty.
I just couldn't leave without seeing you two back first. Now that you're here, I can go with peace of mind."
He patted Wukong's shoulder and said, "Up here, we can be self-sufficient, but there's no money to be made, let alone saved.
I'll fire that boiler, earn some cash, and save it up for you and Sun Mo—for when you two find wives."
Son Goku suddenly understood.
"Oh, so you need money to get a wife!"
Son Gohan laughed. "Of course. Without money, what girl would want to marry a poor kid?"
Wukong suddenly remembered something and quickly said, "Oh, right, Grandpa, I already have a bride."
Son Gohan froze.
"What did you say?"
Sun Mo had matured a bit early, tall for his age, so having a girlfriend made sense.
But Son Goku was still the size of a little bean—nowhere near the age for a girlfriend.
Wukong explained, "Grandpa, we ran into Uncle Ox-King. He has a daughter named Chi-Chi.
We've already agreed—when Chi-Chi grows up, she'll marry me."
"Ox-King's daughter?"
Son Gohan was so stunned his mouth could've fit an egg.
Son Goku nodded. "Yeah, you told me about Uncle Ox-King, Grandpa."
"That's right, he's my junior disciple.
I never thought he'd have a daughter..."
Son Gohan looked at Wukong, picturing Chi-Chi as tall and burly as Ox-King, with the strength to move mountains, and couldn't help a chill down his spine.
But then he saw the pure clarity in Wukong's eyes and something clicked.
Wukong's taste was different—he couldn't tell which girls were pretty, instead favoring rough, strong, warrior-like women.
Thinking this, Gohan sighed.
And she was his junior's daughter. This engagement would have to stand—he couldn't bring himself to break it off.
"A cursed fate..."
Just then, Wukong's stomach growled loudly.
Gohan smiled. "Hungry?"
"Hehe, yeah!" Wukong grinned, showing his teeth.
Gohan set down his bundle. "Then eat before you go!"
Son Goku nodded. "Mm, I'll go hunting. You start the fire, Grandpa..."
They cooked in large quantities, so anything that didn't fit in the kitchen was done outside over a fire.
Son Gohan nodded, looked up at the sky, and said, "If only Sun Mo would come back for a visit too..."
Right at that moment, Sun Mo came speeding in, riding a pillar.
Son Gohan was startled.
"What's that?"
Son Goku looked up at the sky, and his expression suddenly brightened.
"It's Sun Mo back! Grandpa, get back!"
"Speak of the devil!"
Sun Mo spotted Grandpa's bundle and asked, "Grandpa, where are you headed?"
Wukong said, "Grandpa's off to stoke the boiler!"
"Stoke the boiler?"
Gohan gathered firewood as he spoke. "Let's cook first. After we eat, we'll talk about it over the meal."
Soon, Son Gohan explained the whole situation to Sun Mo again.
And so, the three of them finished that meal together, then finally went their separate ways.
Wukong headed straight for Kame House, and Son Gohan went down the mountain.
Sun Mo left last. Before he went, he found the spaceship he'd arrived in, picked it up, and flew toward West City.
With the spaceship as a foundation, the Gravity Chamber had no more development bottlenecks. Dr. Brief smoothly proceeded with its research, development, and manufacturing.
After that, Sun Mo didn't leave. Bulma was still on summer break, and he was going on a date with her.
The next day, on a bustling commercial street.
Bulma had her arm linked through Sun Mo's, strolling lightly and leisurely down the street.
She wore her hair in a high ponytail, had on light makeup, and was dressed in trendy clothes.
Sun Mo had also been specially dressed up by her to look extra handsome.
Simple, but far from cheap, casual wear only accentuated Sun Mo's tall, straight frame and sunny good looks.
The two of them walking down the street were the most eye-catching handsome man and beautiful woman around.
But their lighthearted pace soon turned heavy as they kept shopping, quickly loading up with bags and packages.
"This one! And this one! Oh, this color scheme suits you perfectly!"
Bulma dragged Sun Mo through several boutique stores, sweeping through them all.
Sun Mo looked great in the clothes he tried on, and Bulma had a good eye. She bought him a lot of outfits he liked.
For Sun Mo, shopping wasn't exactly enjoyable.
But at least it was clothes for him. More clothes meant more options to change into during training later.
And with more clothes, he wouldn't have to do laundry as often, saving time.
Still, even though they were buying clothes for Sun Mo, Bulma was the one having a blast.
It wasn't just the shopping she enjoyed—it was the looks of admiration and envy from the shop assistants and other customers.
See? This is my boyfriend, Bulma's boyfriend. Tall, handsome...
You're all jealous, aren't you!
After finishing their shopping spree, Bulma stored all the clothes into a Hoi-Poi Capsule.
Sun Mo thought they were heading home, but Bulma took him to a movie theater instead.
In her words: "Can you even call it a date if you don't watch a movie?"
Sun Mo could only endure in silence.
For the first time, he realized—shopping was exhausting!
More exhausting than training!
While Bulma bought the tickets, he quickly sat down on a bench to rest.
A moment later, Bulma came back with two tickets.
"I've got the tickets, and I bought popcorn, chips, and cola. Let's go in!"
Sun Mo stood up. He'd already decided—he'd catch a nap during the movie. Today had been way too tiring.
Just as they were walking inside, a surprised voice called out.
"Bulma?"
They turned to look. It was a few of Bulma's classmates.
Sun Mo sized them up.
The few girls were fashionably dressed, clearly also there to see a movie.
Bulma immediately looped her arm through Sun Mo's, nestling so close she was practically leaning on him.
Sun Mo felt her softness and her scent, letting himself be "manipulated" by her.
In an instant, all the female classmates' gazes fell on Sun Mo.
Sunny, tall, handsome.
He was simply too stylish.
In that moment, they each showed expressions of envy, jealousy, and resentment, each one different.
Bulma's lips curved into a sweet smile, and she pressed herself even closer to Sun Mo.
Her voice coy: "Oh, by the way, let me introduce you—this is my boyfriend, Sun Mo."
After saying that, she deliberately added, "We were out shopping originally, and after we bought stuff, I was going to go home and do my homework—I haven't even started my summer homework yet!
But he insisted I come watch a movie with him, I just can't do anything about him~"
Sun Mo cooperated by nodding politely to the girls, courteous but not warm.
Yet this attitude only made the girls feel he had a unique aura.
Their eyes darted between Bulma and Sun Mo, envy almost turning into tangible sourness.
She really got to show off!
How could she have such a handsome boyfriend?
