Ten-Year Summary

A circular spaceship shone like the only beam of light in the darkness, speeding silently through the void toward some destination, leaving only faint trails of light in its wake. This was Betkas's ship.

"Hah... still a little ways to go... pretty fast, huh."

Betkas suddenly opened his pale golden pupils inside the pitch-black ship, then spoke slowly, his arms still crossed over his chest, wearing an indifferent, calm expression.

"Have I been keeping quiet too long lately? I feel like the instinctive thrum in my blood is getting suppressed. Hmph, looks like things have been way too peaceful recently."

Betkas suddenly touched the bangs on his forehead, thought back on the last ten years, and couldn't help curling his lips into a faint smile, his face brimming with an eager expression.

Over the past decade, Betkas had experienced many major events—like his insane record of slaughter, constantly taking on missions to destroy planets and kill their natives. For Betkas, seeing too much had gradually numbed him. Especially when Frieza once assigned him and Vegeta to fight on a high-level planet.

What was even more interesting was a few years ago, when Zarbon and Dodoria suggested to Frieza that he get rid of Betkas. If Frieza really tried to kill him, he wouldn't hesitate for a second to have Bardock unleash his full power and annihilate Frieza's first form before he could even transform.

But the biggest issue was Betkas himself. The more he killed, the more numb his heart became, and that made it easier for brutal thoughts to creep in—especially since he was a Saiyan, a proud and cold-blooded race. So in many battles, he'd start acting irrationally, like a rampaging Broly. After that, he figured out a solution...

No killing for five years. No fighting unless absolutely necessary.

In other words, starting five years ago, Betkas hadn't killed anyone in a long time. He didn't even destroy planets, and if he saw flowers or grass, he wouldn't step on them. He was cultivating his mind—or rather, calming his heart, driving out the brutality and darkness that didn't belong to him, so they could never influence him again. He didn't want to end up like Broly.

This also showed just how terrifying Betkas's record was in the first five of those ten years. In just five years, he'd racked up "over four million sin points" with King Yemma. That was insane, and it showed how far "off the rails" Betkas had been back then.

To go five years without killing or fighting, Betkas had to put in a huge effort to keep it hidden. After all, Frieza wouldn't let him just "skip out" for no reason. But Betkas came up with a plan: show off his power better. That way, as one of Frieza's top-tier fighters, he wouldn't need to go out so often.

And it worked. Ever since Betkas displayed strength second only to Frieza himself and Ginyu, his "treatment" improved a lot. For most low-level conquest missions, Betkas hardly ever had to go out—only for some trade missions.

Still, sometimes there were high-level planet conquests, but those were always done in teams. So Betkas would just stand by and watch, not lifting a finger. Some people found it strange, but no one dared to question him.

And just like that, five years slipped by for Betkas.

Today, he'd heard about an interesting mission and took it on. Because after nearly five years without fighting, he'd completely purged the negative influence from his heart. His battle power hadn't dropped either, since he kept up his training. As for how strong Betkas currently was under the "Saiyan Seal," by his own estimate, it was only around one hundred ten thousand.

He was getting more and more excited for the day four years from now...

Because that day would be the start of a legend—the day he would become a Super Saiyan. Then he could truly break free of the Saiyan Seal and achieve that supreme, absolute power.
