History
Ginyu proposes forming the Ginyu Force as Frieza’s strongest unit, and Frieza authorizes him to recruit elite fighters from the South Galaxy. Years later, Ginyu invites Betkas to join, but Betkas refuses. Ginyu nevertheless recognizes that Betkas is concealing his strength 25 33.
Sent ahead to Namek after Betkas turns against Frieza, Ginyu confronts him and is badly beaten. He attempts to use Body Change, but Betkas throws a frog into its path. Trapped in the frog’s body, Ginyu is kept captive by Betkas, who studies the technique and its weaknesses 54 55 56 72.
Betkas later finds Ginyu a new host. After weakening Turles, he allows Ginyu to use Exchange through a translator and take the Saiyan’s body. Ginyu subsequently becomes a Super Saiyan and travels between planets, seeking stronger opponents before visiting Betkas on Earth 72 73 87 130.
On arriving on Earth, Ginyu encounters Broly and is incapacitated by a single punch. He later trains under Bardock for several years. During the Phantom Demon conflict, he fights alongside Tarble to buy Son Gohan time to gather power.
