Background / History

The Body Sect specializes in Body Martial Souls: mutated, non-inheritable Martial Souls corresponding to parts of the user's body. Its central cultivation principle is that Soul Power strengthens the corresponding body part, which in turn improves the Martial Soul and feeds back into faster cultivation. This creates a positive feedback loop despite the generally low starting point of Body Martial Souls. 2 3 22

The sect was formerly small, mobile, and difficult to locate, lacking even a mountain gate. Its reputation was controversial; outsiders characterized it as neither righteous nor evil and blamed it for indiscriminate Soul Beast hunting and beast tides. 2 Its own culture, however, treats Body Martial Soul users as family, and its members received Mu Yuan as one of their own upon his recruitment. 2

The sect monitored Lanba Primary Soul Master Academy for potential recruits after Shrek Academy examined and redirected Body Martial Soul users there. Mu Yuan was recruited three days after enrolling at Lanba and was brought to a sect manor in Heaven Dou City to meet Sect Master Du Busi. 2

Du Busi later chose to make the sect publicly visible through the Soul Master Tournament. To meet the tournament's academy-only entry requirements, Wei Na arranged for the Body Advanced Soul Master Academy, which recruited only Body Martial Soul users and effectively operated as a sect-controlled academy. 14 52 The tournament increased the sect's fame, and it began receiving new disciples in double digits over the following year. 116

The sect's growth was accelerated by Mu Yuan's Bloodline Furnace Method, Blood Essence Soul Ring system, and forging breakthroughs. Following the unification of the continent and establishment of the Sun Moon Federation, Mu Yuan and Du Busi leveled the Mingdou Mountain Range to construct Mingdou City, the federation's capital.
