Background / History

Demons are a recurring hostile force against human settlements and martial sects. Alongside Exotic Beasts, they launch repeated assaults on human camps and defensive lines, including a dawn invasion led by five Xiantian-level demons during the war around Lin Chang Commandery. Their earlier attacks were used as a diversion for the main assault. 123 124

Demon forces employed organized battlefield tactics during the war, but suffered major losses to Chen Mo. He fought multiple Xiantian demons at once, later massacred demon and Exotic Beast forces at the front line, and found a former coalition base camp marked by a massive broken Weird Rune. 125 134 183

The conflict is connected to portals and light curtains between worlds. An Earth Cave near Guanghan City contained a light curtain leading to an endless sea of demons, while later light-curtain arrays were explicitly identified as routes to the Demon World. 249 250 259

The Demon World contains demon tribes, guarded cities, rare resources, and a higher-oxygen environment than the Divine Seal Imperial Dynasty. Human martial artists enter it to explore and train, while demons prepare counterattacks against human incursions. 296 297 299

Physiology

Demons vary greatly in form and capability. Documented examples include a human-faced Weird Demon, long-haired and green-skinned Xiantian demons, bull-horned Grandmaster demons, a Horned Demon, snake-men with human torsos, and a single-horned demon. 71 125 183 184 262 277
