As night deepened, the lights in the Anbu Headquarters Building went out one by one. Only a handful of offices were still lit.

The front doors on the first floor of the Anbu Building stood slightly ajar, making the place look poorly guarded. But Orochimaru and Takigawa Hyuga, both in disguise, were lurking in a shadowy corner some distance away, not daring to make a single reckless move.

After a while, a white head emerged from the ground at their feet.

"How does it look?" Orochimaru asked, looking down at the White Zetsu Clone.

The White Zetsu Clone tilted his head. "There's a Sealing Barrier covering the whole building, including underground, and Konoha Anbu are keeping watch outside. Sneaking in without anyone noticing will be difficult."

"I see..." Orochimaru stared at the Anbu Building, his eyes flickering with malice.

"Orochimaru, I don't mind if you force your way into the Anbu Building, but don't forget we have a mission to complete," Takigawa Hyuga hinted subtly.

Their mission was to assassinate the Mist Village Envoy's chief representative, Mei Terumi, after the envoy left Konoha!

The White Zetsu Clone thought that made sense and hurriedly nodded. "Hyuga is right, Orochimaru. I think we'd be better off waiting outside Konoha."

"Hehehehe. Given the current situation, the people from Kirigakure won't be able to leave Konoha anytime soon. That gives us... enough time." Orochimaru gave a sinister chuckle.

"Enough time for what?"

Takigawa Hyuga asked, "Orochimaru, what's your plan?"

Orochimaru turned to look at Takigawa Hyuga, a strange smile on his face. "A plan? Hehehe. It's already underway."

Takigawa Hyuga was confused.

The White Zetsu Clone, however, seemed to have realized something. He demanded furiously, "Orochimaru, don't tell me you made another clone while I was scouting the Anbu Building!"

Orochimaru smiled without answering.
