The Captain was so strong!!
Hidden in the shadows, Itachi Uchiha stared intently at Hayate. His usually expressionless face was filled with shock.
He had actually managed to fight the Fourth Raikage, who had activated Lightning Release Chakra Mode, to a standstill—and even seemed to have the upper hand. Hayate had nearly turned Itachi's whole worldview upside down.
"...Let's talk." Hayate's voice brought Itachi back to his senses.
They were about to negotiate... Itachi quickly made himself even harder to spot, afraid that if the negotiations went badly and they fought again, the Fourth Raikage might notice him once he had calmed down!
Though Itachi couldn't help the Captain in a fight, he certainly didn't want to cause him trouble.
"What is there left to talk about at this point?"
The Fourth Raikage snorted, looking displeased, but his Lightning Release Armor gradually fizzled out until only a thin layer covered his body.
You say you don't want to, but your body's being pretty honest... Hayate chuckled to himself. On the outside, though, he wore a sincere expression and asked solemnly, "Of course there's plenty to discuss! Lord Fourth Raikage, please tell us why you personally led the Cloud Ninja army here!"
"The reason?"
The Fourth Raikage glared at Hayate with his beady eyes and snarled, "Of course it's because of the good deed your Konoha pulled!"
"Which good deed are you referring to, Lord Fourth Raikage?" Hayate asked, eager to learn.
"..." A rumble sounded from the Fourth Raikage, and his Lightning Armor suddenly flared up again.
"Please calm down, Lord Fourth Raikage." Hayate looked sincere. "I really don't know!"
"My sworn brother, Killer B!" the Fourth Raikage roared.
