After lunch, Inoue Gekko and Matsushita Gekko suggested taking the two brothers shopping. Hayate was in a state of excitement because it was his birthday, so of course he wanted to go. Hanfu, however, refused.

Hanfu said with a touch of melancholy, "Hayate, don't worry about me. You go with them. It's your birthday, so if you see anything you like, buy it. The old men are paying this afternoon!"

The little brat had just called them Grandpa when he needed something, and now that he didn't, he was calling them old men. Typical—using the donkey to grind the grain, then sending it packing.
