Background

Hanfu transmigrated into the ninja world at the age of seven. Initially considered poorly suited to Konoha-Style Kenjutsu, he discovered the Collection Technique and quickly began using it to compensate for his lack of natural talent. His first major success was complete mastery of chakra refinement, followed by the acquisition of basic academy techniques. 1 3 5

Rather than openly reveal the source of his growth, Hanfu deliberately cultivated an image as a “hard-working genius.” He improved visibly through training, sparring, and clan instruction so that his increasingly unusual abilities would appear to be the result of diligence rather than a hidden power. 111 112 123

His pursuit of Shennong's Forbidden Body Activation Technique marked an early turning point. Hanfu orchestrated an opportunity to steal the scroll using Tōton, then spent more than half a month repeatedly studying and collecting its contents before he succeeded. 52 57 63

Hanfu was introduced as a young boy with large, watery eyes, often using an innocent expression to disarm adults. By his later teenage years, he is described as handsome and lean. 5 485 486

Hanfu is highly opportunistic and plans around the limitations of his Collection Technique. He studies targets, manufactures access to scrolls or opponents, and conceals his real motives behind harmless behavior, false humility, or carefully maintained personas. 11 52 306 549

He is persistent when collection fails. He repeatedly studied the Forbidden Body Activation Technique, Wind Nature Transformation, Flying Thunder God Technique, and other difficult materials rather than abandoning them after unsuccessful attempts. 63 230 370

Despite his confidence and frequent internal grandstanding, Hanfu recognizes weaknesses in his combat ability. After struggling in a prolonged battle with Hiruko, he sought Gekko Hoshino's advice about his Spiritual Energy and his difficulty closing distance against fast casters. 252
