Formation

Golden Core advancement begins after Foundation Establishment cultivation reaches Ninth Level perfection. Throughout Foundation Establishment, the dantian repeatedly collapses and condenses rather than expanding; by Ninth Level perfection, it has compressed to roughly the size of a chicken egg. 399

The standard method is known as Water and Fire refining the Golden Elixir. Spirit Fire, Spirit Water, cultivation pills, and compressed magic power temper the dantian's contents into an embryonic core. Resources alone are insufficient: bottlenecks, mentality, comprehension, and a cultivator's state of mind also determine success. 399 650

1. Compression and tempering — Magic power is continuously compressed and refined through Spirit Fire and Spirit Water until a Golden Core embryo forms. 751

Properties

Golden Core Magic Power

Golden Core cultivators still use magic power, but its density and quality greatly surpass Foundation Establishment magic power. This transformation enables the use of True Arts and Tier 3 True Artifacts. 550

Golden Core cultivation has two principal goals:

• Increasing the quantity of magic power within the core.
• Tempering the core until it becomes purer, denser, firmer, and more solid. 593

A purer Golden Core is easier to break when forming a Nascent Soul. 593

Divine Sense

Advancing through Golden Core layers increases Divine Sense. A standard cultivator who has just reached Golden Core Layer 9 can possess approximately 1,900 li of Divine Sense, with Golden Core perfection adding roughly another 100 li. 616

Wu Tao's specialized cultivation produces far greater results:

• At Layer 3, his Divine Sense reaches 1,740 li, comparable to a Layer 7 Golden Core cultivator. 598

True Arts

At the Golden Core stage, ordinary spells transform into True Arts. True Artifacts require True Prohibitions because ordinary Magic Restrictions cannot bear the power of Golden Core True Arts. 550

The Golden Core Nine Refinements is a Golden Core ultimate technique acquired by Wu Tao in the Devil Domain Trial Battlefield. Each refinement tempers the core further and increases magic power beyond cultivators of the same realm. 533

Combat Capability and Status

Golden Core cultivators are regarded as top combat power within sects when Nascent Soul True Lords do not intervene. They hold significant sect authority, while Nascent Soul True Lords generally remain in seclusion and do not manage routine sect affairs. 402 404

The gap between Foundation Establishment and Golden Core is immense. Wu Tao compares a Golden Core facing a Foundation Establishment cultivator to a Foundation Establishment cultivator facing someone at Qi Refining. 408

Golden Core battles can affect a vast area and produce dangerous shockwaves, though combatants may deliberately restrain their attacks to avoid provoking nearby Golden Core cultivators. 604

Destruction and Death

A Golden Core can be destroyed in combat. When Diyin Old Devil sacrifices his core in a final attack, Pei Qing and Yao Guangsheng shatter it; Diyin's aura immediately falls back to Foundation Establishment before Pei Qing destroys his body and soul. 300

Zhou Hu similarly dies when Wu Tao's Natal True Art shatters his Golden Core and dissipates his soul. 523
