Background
Chu Wujiu was born into the War Immortal Chu Clan with unremarkable talent. His life changed when he awakened the Nine Prisons Battle Body at fifteen, after which his cultivation advanced rapidly and he became the strongest member of the Chu Clan’s younger generation 63.
His reputation rests on extreme cross-realm combat. Before reaching the Tenth Realm, he had already killed opponents two major realms above himself; at the Tenth Realm, he was said to be capable of instantly killing Twelfth Realm powerhouses 63.
Li Xuan’s account of being slain by Qin Wangchuan in one sword strike provoked Chu Wujiu’s interest. Initially dismissive, he chose to enter the True Dragon Secret Realm specifically to test whether Qin Wangchuan was truly as formidable as rumored 63.
Appearance
Chu Wujiu has sharp, blade-carved features and a restrained presence likened to an abyss, though a heart-palpitating sharpness leaks through his composure 63.
- Often wears gray robes; he is also seen in purple robes during the True Dragon Secret Realm expedition 63 79.
- Possesses an imposing physical aura, with surging blood energy and battle intent during combat 167.
- His Heaven and Earth Law manifests as a towering Dharma Body wielding halberds 242 304.
Personality
Chu Wujiu is blunt, combative, and intensely committed to surpassing his limits. He believes effort matters more than innate talent, a conviction that drives him to challenge Qin Wangchuan despite repeated defeats 63.
His rivalry with Qin Wangchuan evolves from confidence into self-awareness. After being casually swatted out of the True Dragon Secret Realm, he recognizes the gulf between them, voluntarily cuts down his cultivation to pursue the Celestial Being path, and seeks a fair rematch rather than abandoning his ambition 79 84 95.
Though often reckless, he is not cruelly pragmatic. He values directness, respects opponents who dare to challenge overwhelming odds, and refuses to abandon allies or the dead—even while exhausted and injured by Black Mist erosion 273 352 353.
Abilities & Skills
Nine Prisons Battle Body
Chu Wujiu’s awakened physique is the foundation of his explosive physical strength and his ability to defeat stronger cultivators.
- Each broken “prison” greatly multiplies his strength 72.
- Allows him to fight opponents multiple realms above his own 63 72.
- Supports overwhelming close-quarters power; a single unassisted punch crushed dozens of Alien Race combatants into paste 167.
- His physical endurance allows him to climb Wandao Academy’s hundred-tier Heaven Ascending Ladder through pure body and willpower 281.
Battle Intent Furnace
The Chu Clan’s secret technique converts spiritual energy and battle intent into explosive combat power.
- Can rapidly elevate his realm and raw power in battle 113.
- Its reliance on battle intent risks loss of control, a weakness Qin Wangchuan identifies while adapting the technique 121.
- Chu Wujiu later shares a truncated version with Qin Wangchuan for public transmission; only Chu Clan bloodline holders can reach its full potential 119.
- He operates the Third Gear Spirit Power Furnace at full capacity during the Alien Race battlefield campaign 167.
Heaven and Earth Law: Destiny Aspect of Killing and Judgment
Chu Wujiu manifests a seven-character Heaven and Earth Law centered on killing, judgment, and a massive Dharma Body.
- Forms a hundred-zhang Dharma Body capable of overwhelming higher-realm opponents 268.
- Used to easily kill Elder Xu, a Fourteenth Realm cultivator 268.
- Defeats a four-armed Alien Race warrior in the Black Sky Blood Arena 350.
- His manifestation can wield improvised halberd-shaped weapons formed through Dao Shu Bing Bone 304.
- The Dharma Body remains vulnerable to Qin Wangchuan’s Saint Law and Slaughtering Dao Heavenly Scar 244.
Heaven-Opening War Halberd Projection
Chu Wujiu can manifest a projection of the Chu Clan’s ancestral holy relic, the Heaven-Opening War Halberd.
- The projection produces void fissures capable of shredding Qin Wangchuan’s Heavenly Sword 114.
- Its appearance suppresses spiritual energy and carries an aura that returns all things to primordial ruin 241.
- It serves as his principal answer to Qin Wangchuan’s Heavenly Sword techniques 241.
- Temporarily leaving the halberd open after countering the Heavenly Sword created the opening Qin Wangchuan used to target him 115.
Close-Quarters Combat
Chu Wujiu favors direct physical combat, halberd strikes, and unconventional tactics.
- Can use blood energy to blast open sealed paths through solid rock 257.
- Fires small projectiles, such as a copper coin, with enough force to pierce several demonic beasts at once 72.
- Used a sudden headbutt to break Cangming’s prepared strategy and wound his Dharma manifestation while exhausted 353.
- His straightforward fighting style can leave him exposed to more tactical opponents, particularly Qin Wangchuan 115 304.
