In the sky, Naiyuan and the others returned to the air.
Herohero was busy analyzing the memories he had just acquired.
Although he had successfully obtained the target's memories, he found the information within to be extremely chaotic, requiring him to spend time sorting it out.
"How is it, Herohero?"
"It's a bit complicated. I need to properly organize the contents of these memories."
"Then let's wait until we're done and back at Nazarick to discuss it."
Momonga waved his hand, telling Herohero to focus on organizing the information and that they would discuss it once they returned to Nazarick.
"Alright."
"Then, next up is that so-called strongest combat power of the Kingdom. The Warrior Captain, was it?"
Naiyuan looked down at the barrier below. The Sunlight Scripture on the right had been completely wiped out, and their corpses had all been collected by Momonga into his storage item.
He believed their bodies would soon be brought back to life, though naturally, as Undead.
As for the disposal of the unit of measurement below.
For them, having already obtained the information they wanted, the life of the unit of measurement was no longer important. The only purpose the other party served now was for them to observe and see if he had the qualifications to survive.
Having watched the anime, Naiyuan had a fairly positive impression of this character; at the very least, he was a good unit of measurement.
"The strongest at level 30, huh? Haha, I hope he can bring us some amusement."
"Warrior Captain, we've been circling here for almost an hour now."
"The brothers are all very tired. Shouldn't we take a break?"
"Only then will we have the strength to deal with any potential crises that might arise."
A soldier said with concern. Ever since they were trapped here, they had tried various methods, but none could get them out.
Now, everyone was thirsty and exhausted, their combat effectiveness significantly reduced.
If the enemy were to attack at this moment, they would surely suffer heavy losses.
"Then let's rest for a while. Tell everyone not to let their guard down."
"Wait, we must find a way out, otherwise we will face a shortage of water and food sooner or later."
The man called the Warrior Captain ordered, then once again looked around with a solemn expression.
His name was Gazef, the only expert in the kingdom to have reached the Hero Realm. He had been ordered to lead this mission to surround and annihilate the enemy.
But upon arriving here, he had been trapped. He was certain that the opponent was a powerful Magic Caster; only someone of that caliber could silently trap all of them here.
Sigh, I wonder if I'll be able to return safely this time.
Gazef thought pessimistically. He wasn't worried about himself, but about His Majesty the King. If he couldn't return to the King's side in time, the nobles would surely stir up trouble.
"What are you worried about? Your own safety?"
Just as Gazef was feeling anxious, a faint, ethereal voice drifted into his ears.
"Who's there!"
Hearing the voice, Gazef whipped his head around to scan his surroundings, but he only saw his soldiers looking at him with confused expressions, as if asking what was wrong.
"Don't bother looking; you won't be able to see us."
A different voice than the one before echoed in his ears, warning him that it was a waste of effort—he wouldn't find them.
"Answer our question: what are you worried about?"
The previous, magnetic voice spoke up again, repeating the earlier question.
"I am worried about His Majesty's safety. I don't know who you are, sirs, but could you please let my brothers leave?"
"If one person must be left behind, then let it be me."
Realizing he couldn't locate the speakers, Gazef stepped aside and spoke to the empty air.
"Aren't you trying to protect your King? Why would you choose to stay behind?"
The voice asked with a hint of confusion; it didn't understand why he wanted to leave yet chose to stay.
"I want to protect His Majesty because he gave me everything I have today."
"But just as His Majesty protects me, I must now protect my subordinates."
"I cannot abandon them and leave alone. They are all my brothers."
Gazef looked resolutely at the soldiers resting nearby. He was the Warrior Captain, and he had to ensure that every one of them returned to the kingdom safely.
"Even if it costs you your life?"
"I will have no regrets."
Without a shred of cowardice or fear, Gazef was perfectly calm. He faced his own death with composure.
"Is that so..."
"You really are an interesting fellow."
"We acknowledge you. You may go."
The voice rang out once more, this time clearly carrying goodwill; one could sense that the speaker was in a very good mood.
"And my brothers?"
"They may all go. Do not come back again."
"Carne Village is now under our protection."
"Thank you, my lords. I am eternally grateful."
Gazef started to kneel, but he was stopped by an unseen force.
"There is no need for that. Go."
Gazef wanted to say something more, but he suddenly felt the world spin around him. When he regained his senses, he found that he had already left the area and arrived in the middle of a grassland.
The surrounding soldiers also looked around with lingering fear, not understanding why they had suddenly appeared here.
"Warrior Captain, what just happened?"
A soldier wanted to ask more, but Gazef waved his hand, signaling him not to inquire further.
Gazef stared in the direction of Carne Village for a long time. Finally, he bowed deeply toward it before mounting his warhorse.
"We return to the Kingdom."
With that order, Gazef took the lead and departed. Although the soldiers behind him were confused, they followed closely.
On a distant hilltop, Naiyuan and the others watched calmly as the figures slowly faded from their sight.
"He is a decent man."
Momonga spoke up. After the conversation they had just shared, he had a very good impression of the Warrior Captain.
Momonga had always been a man who valued sentiment, so he resonated with the man's character.
"That personality... it reminds me of Touch Me."
Herohero also sighed. The man's character was very much to his liking; he didn't dislike people like that.
"But it is a pity that we are destined never to be friends."
Naiyuan looked in the direction the man had left. He knew that sooner or later, they would become enemies. As long as Nazarick intended to conquer the world, the man would inevitably stand on the opposing side.
He could not spare the Kingdom just for the sake of a unit of measurement.
The three Floor Guardians stood quietly to the side, not interrupting the conversation between the three Supreme Beings.
They held no particular affection for humans. Enri was an exception; she had earned the favor of the three Supreme Beings, which allowed them to interact with her normally.
"Let's go back. Back to our home."
Naiyuan walked over to Momonga, who understood his intention and raised the staff in his hand.
[Gate]
A pitch-black passage emerged. Naiyuan stepped into it first, followed closely by Momonga, then Herohero, and finally the Floor Guardians.
As everyone entered, the passage began to slowly vanish, and the place returned to silence once more.
