Brothers (Part 2)

"Father."

Outside the base, Uchiha Itachi stood beside Uchiha Fugaku. Itachi respectfully gave Fugaku a slight bow.

Neither of them went inside. They silently waited outside the base, as neither had taken part in this battle, because it was a battle that belonged to Sasuke.

However, unlike Fugaku's calmness, Itachi was somewhat anxious. He did not know what was happening inside, but he knew that this battle would absolutely not be a peaceful one.

He knew that Shisui would hold back, but he did not know to what extent.

He did not want Sasuke to get hurt, even though he knew there was a ninety percent chance that would never happen.

He loved his Younger Brother too much. Likewise, he loved his older brother. Seeing either of them injured would pain him, but there was simply no way to avoid a battle like this.

Feeling the continual tremors from within the base and the Chakra aura constantly spilling out, Itachi truly could not hold himself back any longer.

He really wanted to rush inside and take a look, but he did not dare. That would likely go against Uchiha Kei's wishes and disrupt that lord's plan, so he could only express his concerns to his father.

"There is no need to worry." Fugaku shook his head and let out a faint sigh. "This is Sasuke's battle, and only he can bring it all to an end. You benefited from the Potential Plan; now it is his turn."

"But such pain... Sasuke probably can't even..." Itachi still hesitated. The pain one had to endure to awaken the Mangekyo was simply unimaginable!
