Background / History
C.C. was once a green-haired slave girl who possessed Geass before gaining the Code and its immortality. Her long life was marked by exploitation and violence from people seeking her power, leaving her detached from others and burdened by memories she considered unworthy of remembering. 197 199 227
She granted Geass to Mao under the terms of a future contract, but abandoned him after deciding he could not fulfill those terms. Mao later became obsessively attached to her and pursued her after she chose not to leave with him. 200
C.C. eventually arrived at Jiu Ming’s shop, read his diary without permission, and secured permission to stay by exploiting his reluctance to force her out. Pizza quickly became a defining part of their shared domestic life. 69 86
Appearance
C.C. is a slender, tall woman with long green hair and golden eyes. She bears a distinctive scar on her chest and is frequently recognized by her composed, imposing presence. 197 212 243
- Long, glossy green hair. 194
- Golden eyes marked by the weight of centuries of experience. 212 840
- A chest scar associated with the symbol Jiu Ming sees in visions of her past. 197
- Wore a conspicuous restraint suit while accompanying Lelouch in Area 11. 193
- Her outwardly aloof bearing can intimidate strangers even when she is not actively threatening them. 243
Personality
C.C. is calm, sardonic, and difficult to unsettle. Having lived for centuries, she treats being watched, threatened, or judged with near-total indifference. She often teases Jiu Ming and Lelouch, particularly when either becomes embarrassed or overconfident. 94 137 190
She is practical in negotiations and rarely gives information freely, though her demands are usually simple—most often pizza. Her detached attitude does not prevent her from showing concern: she warns Lelouch about Geass, worries over Jiu Ming’s safety, and helps vulnerable people feel safe. 74 86 201 198
After sealing away her own memories, C.C. temporarily reverted to a timid, childlike personality. During this period she became dependent on Jiu Ming, embarrassed by revealing clothes, and unusually concerned with manners. 214 215 217 221 After recovering her memories, she returned to a more aloof demeanor while retaining a softer attitude toward Jiu Ming. 228
Abilities & Skills
Code and Immortality
C.C. possesses the Code, granting her an immortal constitution and extreme longevity.
- Rapidly heals physical injuries; a bullet wound in her shoulder closed and expelled the misshapen bullet. 212
- Can still be injured and restrained despite her immortality. 209 212
- Her immortality and healing appeared dormant after her memory seal, causing injuries to heal at ordinary human speed. 215 227
- Yakumo Yukari concluded that the power had not vanished, but was instead dormant and would likely revive C.C. after a fatal injury. 227
- The world’s rejection force can prevent her from leaving certain environments because she is considered an “illegal existence.” 242
Geass Contracts
C.C. can form contracts that grant Geass abilities, though the resulting power varies by recipient.
- Jiu Ming received a Geass through a contract with her; his version burns mental strength to enhance his own power. 86
- She previously gave Mao his Geass in exchange for a future contract. 200
- She understands that repeated Geass use causes the power to strengthen until it may become uncontrollable. 86 201
- Her knowledge of Geass allows her to explain Mao’s thought-reading ability and its inability to be freely deactivated. 201
Memory Art Gallery
C.C. can manifest her memories as an internal mental world resembling a vast gallery of paintings.
- Each painting records and can replay a portion of her life. 227
- She used the gallery to pull the White Fox’s mind into a controlled mental space. 248
- Within the gallery, she can alter perceptions and dismiss intruders from her mental world. 249
- Her long experience gives her exceptional discernment in mental conflict despite limited direct combat power. 248
Shared Consciousness with Jiu Ming
When Jiu Ming became trapped inside C.C.’s body by the world’s rejection force, the two shared senses and control of her body.
- C.C. could suppress Jiu Ming’s consciousness and take control when he acted inappropriately. 242
- She later used Jiu Ming’s body to shop and conduct business while they remained linked. 243 245
- Their shared state let them coordinate during the White Fox’s mental assault. 248
Equipment
- Reincarnation Wristwatch Version 1.1 — Provides auxiliary combat functions and an emergency disengagement function that restricts most functions so the world can reject its holder. 330
- Invitation Card — Given to her by Jiu Ming for emergencies before their departure from the Chinese Federation. 223
Relationships
- Jiu Ming — Her closest companion and housemate. Their relationship begins with provocation and boundary-testing, then develops into trust, mutual protection, and a familiar teasing intimacy. He accompanies her back to her world, rescues her after her abduction, and refuses to force her memory recovery. 69 187 203 215 222
- Lelouch — A Geass recipient whom C.C. assists despite often claiming indifference. She provides intelligence on Mao, helps Lelouch’s plans against Britannia, and remains connected to him after he becomes Emperor. 193 201 871
- Mao — A former Geass contractor who became obsessed with C.C. after she left him. She rejects his demand to leave with him and directs Lelouch to investigate him when Zero’s identity is exposed. 200 201
- Little Nine — Jiu Ming’s six-tailed black cat, which regards C.C. as its female master or mother figure. C.C. tolerates its clinginess and protects it from Mao. 165 200
- Yakumo Yukari — The one who discovered that C.C.’s apparent amnesia was a self-imposed memory seal rather than actual memory loss. 227
- Suzumiya Haruhi — An associate whose enthusiasm and social behavior C.C. usually meets with indifference. 78 228
