When the two newcomers walked in, the two staff members' smiles widened again. But unlike the way they had felt when dealing with Ci Jincheng, this time they tried to make their smiles as sincere and welcoming as possible, while sweat trickled down their backs.
With their experience, they could tell that the flying car, which looked as if it were encrusted with rubies, wasn't something an ordinary rich family could afford. And that Flying Skateboard... that was a military-issue Flying Skateboard! Military models were in a league of their own compared to ordinary flying cars. Moreover, there was only one place in Seven Luminaries Academy that had them: the Training Department. The two staff members knew exactly what the people in the Training Department were like. This kid riding the Flying Skateboard clearly had some serious military connections. People with military connections were not to be trifled with.
"Well, Climbing Tiger, fancy seeing you again! What a coincidence!" Long beamed. He really hadn't expected to run into Xilin at a time like this.
Though Long was driving such a ridiculously luxurious flying car, he was still wearing the same outfit Xilin had seen him in at the Trade Zone. It looked completely out of place.
"What a coincidence," Xilin replied with a smile. He didn't dislike Long; in fact, he found him interesting. Long's prominent background couldn't hide his abilities. Maybe most people hadn't noticed, but Xilin was certain Long was no pushover.
As for the young man who'd arrived on the Flying Skateboard, he had a resolute yet unruly air about him. When he saw Xilin, a fierce battle intent as intense as a star flashed in his eyes. Even as bystanders, the two staff members felt a little intimidated.
This young man was Knight, who had watched the entire scene of Xilin knocking the flying car out of the sky with Huoding at the Training Department.
Seeing Knight's expression, Xilin was puzzled. Who the hell was this guy? He seemed to know him. Still, Xilin didn't back down in the slightest from the piercing battle intent in Knight's eyes.
Like Xilin, Long and Knight both had Red Cards. After swiping them across the scanner, their information appeared on the screen.
Andrelara Long, Fegler Knight!
The two staff members exchanged a glance, their hearts pounding. They'd been at Seven Luminaries Academy for years, so they knew a few of the more sensitive surnames. Everyone knew the Andrelara Family was "so rich all they had left was money." More importantly, the surname Fegler had suddenly appeared!
The Feglers were a military family. Several generals already bore the Fegler name, and one of the Galactic Alliance Army's Eight Marshals was a Fegler.
The two staff members dealt with the pair in front of them almost fearfully, worried about offending the two young masters. There were plenty of rich kids at Seven Luminaries Academy, but few had backgrounds like theirs. By comparison, Xilin's Daongs Family background seemed quite low-key.
The staff members had originally planned to report to their superiors and request a few more Single Villas. But Long and Knight had gone straight ahead and chosen to share a dorm with Xilin and Ci Jincheng. That surprised the staff members. It was rare for people with such powerful backgrounds to choose the least popular four-person dormitory. With their family connections, they could have gotten Single Villas if they'd insisted.
Once the four had finished the paperwork, Long beckoned. "Come on, I'll drive us over. Roommates, our wonderful life as a foursome starts now! Four-person mode!"
At Long's words, his flashy flying car, which had originally had only one seat, quickly changed shape. Its body stretched slightly, and three more seats unfolded one after another.
Xilin didn't stand on ceremony and hopped straight in. A free ride was a free ride. When Ci Jincheng saw Xilin climb in, he hesitated, then followed. Knight picked up his stowed Flying Skateboard and got into Long's car.
"Hey, buddy, you don't mind my car now? Earlier, I offered you a ride and you looked down on it," Long joked when he saw Knight get in.
Earlier, Long had driven over from the Trade Zone. Near the Teaching Zone, he'd run into Knight riding his Flying Skateboard from the Training Zone.
"Cut the crap. You hadn't even set up the seats back then. It was obvious you were just saying it," Knight scoffed.
Long smiled without replying. Back then, he really had only been saying it. Even if Knight had wanted a ride, Long wouldn't have bothered. But now they were all roommates. As the old man put it, they were "one of us," and of course you treated your own people better.
The two staff members watched the flying car shoot away until it vanished, then slumped into their chairs...
"Holy crap, so many people signed up today, and then, in the last hour, we got the grand finale."
"Yeah, who would've thought four heavyweights would show up all at once? Especially Knight. Hey, with military connections that deep, why didn't he go to a military academy in the C Star Zone? Why come to Seven Luminaries Academy? Doesn't seem like the Fegler Family's style."
"What's so strange about that? Those big-family kids are all eccentric. Maybe they wanted a change of pace. Just look at the Andrelara Family—aren't they all oddballs?"
"That's true."
"Dormitory 6 Area 13. I bet this dorm is the most badass one among this year's new students. No, maybe in all of Seven Luminaries Academy..."
Xilin and the others' dormitory was in Dormitory 6 Area 13. Area 6 was the private villa zone, and 13 was the door number. In the records system, it appeared as 0613.
After they entered 0613 into the flying car's navigation system, a clear route appeared. Before long, the four of them reached their assigned dormitory. The first floor covered at least 500 square meters. The dormitory had three floors; the first was the largest, while the second and third were about the same size. Not counting the courtyard, the three floors together covered at least 1,200 square meters. The spacious courtyard was covered in grass, and above the fence stretched a Light Screen that reached toward the sky. Only the dormitory's residents could enter; anyone who tried to force their way in would trigger an alarm and be repelled. The system identified residents by their Qiyao Cards.
When they completed the paperwork at the Registration Office, all four of their identities had already been entered into the dormitory management system. Once the Light Screen in the courtyard detected their Qiyao Cards, it opened a gap, and the flying car went straight inside.
Long took one look at the dormitory and sighed. "This damn place is tiny."
Xilin: "..."
Ci Jincheng and Knight didn't say anything, but their expressions showed they clearly agreed with Long.
Xilin sighed to himself. Fine, they were rich. He wouldn't compare himself to them.
The Qiyao Cards served as dorm keys. The locks on individual rooms had to be set separately. Each bedroom had a setup system for configuring the locks on its bedroom, Study Room, Training Room, and other spaces.
The four Training Rooms, Living Room, and kitchen were all on the first floor. To Xilin's surprise, only the first floor's layout was fixed. The second and third floors could be rearranged however they liked, like toy building blocks, with the rooms shifting and combining.
After they finished rearranging everything, there was no longer any clear distinction between the second and third floors. The only separation was between the upper floors and the first floor below.
After they'd assigned their bedrooms, Study Rooms, and the rest, Long hollered, "Let's eat first. I'm starving, and I don't have the energy to sort out the rest."
What a load of crap. Had he done any sorting at all? What were those two household robots for? He'd only rearranged the space!
Still, it was almost mealtime. Fine, they could sort out the rest after eating.
"Should we order delivery or go there?" Xilin asked. The Qiyao Handbook mentioned that the cafeteria offered delivery, and many students ordered food instead of going there themselves.
"On the first day, we should definitely go to the cafeteria. We can check out the beauties at Seven Luminaries Academy, too. The quality is great," Long said with a lecherous grin.
The dormitory area had 7 Zones: Zones 1 and 2 were the Single Villa area, Zones 3 and 4 were the Double Villa area, Zones 5 and 6 were the four-person villa area, and Zone 7 was the Single Apartment area. The seven zones formed a ring around a central area containing the cafeteria, Convenience Store, hospital, Cafe, and other facilities.
The cafeteria was shaped like a seven-pointed star, with each point facing one of the dormitory zones.
When the four of them arrived at the cafeteria, they swiped their cards to reserve a table first. They only had to show up within thirty minutes. If nobody came to claim the table within that time, the reservation would be canceled automatically, leaving the table unclaimed.
After reserving their table, the four split up to choose their food, since they each had different tastes. But just as Xilin was selecting his food, someone behind him suddenly called out.
"Xilin!"
