Bestna felt like she might have gotten lost again, again, and again!
Where was this territory she'd been promised? She couldn't see it!
"Sure enough, I never should have gone out during a blizzard!" she muttered dejectedly.
It was a lesson she had drawn from the countless unlucky predicaments of her childhood. Unfortunately, she had never managed to mend her ways, because she could hardly stand the dull life of doing nothing in a cave for long stretches of time.
In truth, when a blizzard raged across the icefields and blotted out everything, it was difficult for any creature to avoid losing its way forever.
The reason she got lost was that she was one of the few who insisted on traveling through blizzards without freezing to death.

Their bloodline had grown so thin that they no longer possessed even a fraction of the Titans' former majesty. They could only eke out a living in bitterly cold places where few creatures dwelled, and so their age-old enemies had gradually forgotten them.
In fact, she had her doubts about that, considering that her "mother" was a powerful dragon. She had dealt with quite a few White Dragons herself, and had even forcibly raised four White Dragon hatchlings.
Yet she hadn't seen the slightest sign that they intended to "slay their mother." Every one of them was obedient as could be!
Fortunately, the blizzard did not
