No sooner had Li Wei's joking remark fallen than the female frost giant, brows raised in fury, nearly answered him with an iron fist.
But her movement halted halfway through, as though she had remembered something. Somewhat awkwardly, she said:
"If it's because of my earlier offense, then I apologize. I shouldn't have spoken so wildly and said I wanted to take you as my son."
Li Wei was startled by this turn of events, which was completely unlike anything he had imagined.

It seemed that acquired upbringing and education really were important. A giant raised by a Silver Dragon truly was different.
Bestna seemed to see through Li Wei's thoughts and said bluntly:
"My mother once taught me a principle: if you can't beat someone, you have to yield. I really can't beat you right now, and you don't look like such a bad person.
As she spoke, she drew circles on the ground with her bare toes and continued somewhat bashfully:
"So if you insist on asking that, it's not impossible... but my mother is Sylvie, you know. You'd better think it through."

Li Wei was thoroughly choked by that answer, which was frighteningly realistic yet carried a trace of teasing. Speechless, he looked up at the sky.
Right. Sylvie counted as her mother. If he made her call him Dad, then what exactly would that make his relationship with Sylvie?
No wonder she was such an oddball—Sylvie had raised her, after all.
Come to think of it, wasn't the newly hatched Sylvie much the same? In a sense, she had acknowledged the Red Dragon Gretania as her mother, only turning the tables and becoming the Master once her muscles had filled out.
Thinking of
