"You pervert!"
Bulma couldn't hold it in anymore. She raised her hand and whacked Wuneng hard on the top of the head.
"Ow, that hurt!"
Realizing what he'd done, Wuneng didn't dare dodge. He could only take the hit.
Though his reaction was probably an act.
"You little pervert! What did you do?"
Bulma did have a soft spot for the boy, but she couldn't exactly accept him putting his hands on her!
"Uh..."
Wuneng rubbed his head and thought carefully about what had happened last night. After a little while, he cautiously said,
"Tell me, is it possible that someone insisted on keeping me from leaving last night?"
"You! Me?"
That simple question made Bulma blush all over again.
She tried to recall what she'd done before she blacked out last night, then covered her cheeks in embarrassment.
In her memories, she'd wrapped both arms around Wuneng and squeezed him tightly against her chest, giggling, "What an adorable little boy!"
Bulma wanted nothing more than to find a hole in the ground to crawl into.
"Why didn't you break free?"
"Grandpa always taught us not to go against a girl's wishes."
Bulma's eyes widened.
"How can someone be so shameless!"
She was about to say something when Son Goku came running in from outside, where he'd been training.
"Wuneng, Bulma! There's a lost Sea Turtle outside!"
"Ahem, let's go take a look! 85 really are soft, Bulma."
"?!"
"What are you talking about?!"
"Nothing, nothing. I misspoke."
Wuneng hurried out, head bowed.
Bulma looked down at her chest, the blush on her face lingering.
"You awful little brat. Just you wait—I'm going to crush that head of yours!"
After spending the night with Wuneng, she still couldn't quite figure out how she felt about him. But when it came to being around him, Bulma couldn't say she disliked it.
In fact, when she calmed down and thought about it, she found herself smiling to herself. She always felt inexplicably happy.
She shook her head and silently reminded herself,
"Wuneng's still just a child. I can't go getting the wrong idea!"
Then she patted her cheeks and hurried out of the house.
"Kind folks, could you make me a cup of lightly salted water? I'm so hungry and thirsty!"
Standing before the brothers was a Sea Turtle as tall as a person, gazing at them with hopeful eyes.
He'd been separated from Master Roshi for more than a year. Who knew how an old Sea Turtle like him had managed to survive on land for so long?
"Don't worry, Old Turtle. We'll take care of it!"
Wuneng called out, then turned to Bulma.
"Make him some seaweed soup. There should be some in the Capsule, right?"
"No problem!"
Bulma answered.
"Come to think of it, Sea Turtle tastes pretty good."
Ribut suddenly spoke up as he looked at the giant Sea Turtle.
"Eh?!"
"I'm old. My meat is tough and stringy, and it's sour and smelly!"
Seeing the gleam in Son Goku's eyes, he felt a chill deep in his shell.
"Ribut, he's just like you!"
Son Goku remembered what Ribut had said the day before and laughed.
"Come on, Goku. Stop teasing them."
After drinking a few mouthfuls of hot soup, Old Turtle finally felt much less exhausted.
"Kind folks, I've been lost for over a year, and I really want to go home. Could you take me there? I'll be sure to repay you!"
"May I ask where your home is?" Bulma asked curiously.
"If it's not too far out of our way, we can do it."
"Um, I only remember that my home is on an island. I don't know anything else."
Sea Turtle awkwardly scratched his head.
After hearing him out, Bulma took a map from her bag and began studying it.
"One's to the left, and the other's to the right. They seem to be in completely opposite directions!"
Bulma muttered. She was just about to refuse when Wuneng gave her a pinch and spoke first.
"I remember checking the Dragon Radar yesterday. The direction you just pointed to, Bulma, should have a Dragon Ball, right? It's on the way to Old Turtle's home."
He turned his back to her and winked, trying to signal something.
"There is a Dragon Ball that way."
"Then let's get going!"
"Goku, carry Old Turtle on your back. Think of it as weight training!"
Wuneng made the decision then and there. Bulma couldn't very well object, so she packed the house back into its Capsule, and they set off together.
Only after Son Goku had carried Old Turtle some distance did Bulma get the chance to go over and ask Wuneng what was bothering her.
"There isn't actually a Dragon Ball over there, is there? Why are you so determined to help him?"
"Don't worry. We'll get something out of it. Just come along."
He chuckled, called Ribut over, and the two of them climbed onto his back.
"Wuneng, isn't someone blocking the road up ahead?"
Ribut flew along, trailing far behind Goku.
Bulma suddenly spoke up, interrupting Wuneng as he looked around.
"Oh, don't worry. Goku can handle it himself."
He leaned forward just a little. Once he'd seen what was blocking the way, he sat back and continued enjoying the view.
To be honest, the scenery from this angle was a pleasant surprise. Wuneng had never experienced it before, so he was especially appreciative.
Seeing that he wasn't concerned, Bulma let go of her worries.
In her eyes, Son-kun might still be young, but he was remarkably dependable.
She didn't need to worry so much after all.
Just as Wuneng had expected, by the time Ribut caught up, they found a large bear sprawled on the ground.
To keep the food from going to waste, Wuneng naturally pitched in and helped prepare it. In the end, everyone ate until their mouths were slick with grease.
"Hmph, I can't say whether Sea Turtle tastes good, but this bear meat is so tender!"
Old Turtle had clearly enjoyed the meal. He stopped bringing up how much he liked eating coral. Bear meat was pretty tasty too, after all.
After finishing their meal, they continued on their way. For the second half of the journey, Wuneng carried Old Turtle while Goku went up into the sky to rest.
By sunset, the three people, one dragon, and one turtle had reached the seaside.
"Old Turtle, we've come a long way to bring you home, but now it's time to part. We'll say goodbye here."
Wuneng set Sea Turtle down on the beach and waited for Ribut to land.
"Next time we meet, I'll treat you to meat again!"
As Son Goku and Bulma jumped down from Ribut's back, Old Turtle greeted everyone.
"Wait here a moment. I'll go buy something—I'll be right back!"
Before anyone could turn him down, he turned and splashed into the sea.
"Huh? Sea Turtle wants us to wait here?"
Bulma gazed out at the sparkling sea in the direction Old Turtle had gone.
"Let's wait a little. We might get an unexpected surprise."
"By the way, turn on the Scouter. We can use it to check the power level of whoever shows up."
