Ji Yun vs. Goku

"Cough, cough. Well, Goku, the Saiyans have already been driven off by Mr. Ji Yun!"

Seeing Goku brimming with fighting spirit, Krillin told him about Ji Yun's battle with the Saiyans.

"What? Ji Yun, that was so unfair! You beat them before I got the chance."

Goku was bitterly disappointed. He looked at Ji Yun and complained nonstop.

His guiding principle in life was fighting. If he wasn't allowed to fight, it would drive him crazy.

"Heh heh, sorry, Goku. It's their fault for being too weak. If they'd held out a little longer, you might have made it in time. What a shame!"

Ji Yun said with a smile.

Everyone was at a loss for words.

Come on! We know you're strong, but could you stop rubbing it in?

If you call them weak, what does that make the rest of us? Are we just trash?

"No way, Ji Yun. Since the Saiyans have left, you have to fight me! Otherwise, I'll be miserable!"

Goku grabbed his hair and said in frustration.

He had just finished training, and his strength had increased tremendously. He had also learned two powerful finishing moves: the Kaio-ken and the Spirit Bomb.

If he wasn't allowed to fight, he really would be miserable.

"I'm afraid..."

Ji Yun was about to refuse without a second thought, but the system's voice rang in his mind once again.

"Ding! The host has been challenged by Son Goku. Please make a choice!"

"Choice one: Accept the challenge and defeat Son Goku. Reward: 100 Senzu Beans!"

"Choice two: Refuse the challenge and leave. Reward: Hermit Master title!"

Ji Yun paused for a moment, then quickly made his decision.

What the heck was a Hermit Master title?

Even a tiny fly was still meat. "I choose one!"

"Ding! The host has successfully chosen to accept the challenge and defeat Son Goku!"

"Upon completing the task, the system will automatically issue the reward. Please check your inventory!"

After the system finished its final prompt,

Ji Yun picked up where he'd left off. "I'm afraid... that's fine!"

"I'd like to see what you've accomplished in your training this past year."

"Great!"

Seeing that Ji Yun had accepted his challenge, Goku was overjoyed.

The Saiyans had been defeated and driven away, but now he could fight Ji Yun!

Ji Yun had defeated two incredibly powerful Saiyans all by himself. What could be better than fighting him?

"Come on. You make the first move. Give it everything you've got!"

Ji Yun said calmly.

Hearing this, Goku quickly assumed a fighting stance.

He fixed a sharp gaze on Ji Yun.

Seeing the two of them about to fight, everyone else quickly moved aside to clear the entire area.

Watching the two on the battlefield, Krillin wanted to advise Goku against it.

After all, Ji Yun was a monster whose strength was downright terrifying. Fighting him was simply asking for a beating.

But seeing how serious Goku was, Krillin figured that even if he spoke up, he wouldn't be able to change his mind!

Gohan was also very worried. He hoped his father would take it easy and that nothing would go wrong.

At that moment, nearly everyone was holding their breath for Goku!

Back on the battlefield,

the two were still locked in a tense standoff.

Goku's feet shifted little by little, and his expression grew increasingly serious.

He saw openings all over Ji Yun's defenses.

But he also felt that every opening was a trap. If he attacked recklessly, he would surely be badly hurt!

Whoosh!

Goku's figure blurred, and in an instant he was right in front of Ji Yun.

He no longer cared about any traps. He launched a flurry of punches and kicks at Ji Yun.

Ji Yun twisted and turned, dodging Goku's attacks as they rained down like bullets.

"As expected of someone who's seen countless battles. His fighting skills are every bit as good as Vegeta's."

Ji Yun silently praised Goku's skill.

"Ha! Dada-da!"

Seeing all his attacks deflected, Goku immediately sped up.

Every strike grew more vicious.

"Bang!"

A loud crash rang out.

Goku's fist slammed into Ji Yun's lower abdomen.

Goku's face lit up. "Did I hit him?"

The joy on his face quickly vanished.

He realized his fist felt as though it had struck a rock.

Not only had it done no damage, but the impact had left his hand aching!

Goku's attacks slowed.

Ji Yun seized the opportunity and struck Goku in the head with a powerful roundhouse kick.

The blow sent Goku flying.

He hurtled toward a nearby mountain.

"Boom!"

The mountainside collapsed, instantly burying him beneath the rubble.

Seeing him fly off, Krillin and the others anxiously called out to him.

"Goku!"

"Goku!"

From among the shattered rocks, Goku pushed aside the stones that had landed on him, sprang to his feet, and leaped back in front of Ji Yun!

"Ow!"

"That really hurt!"

Goku grimaced as he spoke.

"I told you to give it everything you've got."

Ji Yun said with a slight smile.

This was one of Goku's bad habits.

Whenever he fought someone, he always started by testing them. He never began in his strongest state.

"Heh heh, then let me show you what I've accomplished in my training!"

Goku grinned.

Then his expression grew serious once more.

The ki around him began to gather.

"Hah!"

"Kaio-ken!"

Goku shouted.

A layer of red energy surrounded him.

His ki doubled in an instant.

In terms of battle power, that put him at around 16,000.

"Not bad! Come on!"

Ji Yun said with a relaxed smile.

He beckoned Goku forward, inviting him to attack.

Whoosh!

Goku's strength and speed had both improved tremendously.

Every punch carried terrifying force.

But standing before him was Ji Yun, whose strength was even more unfathomable!

Goku's attacks still couldn't touch Ji Yun.

Ji Yun's movements had become incredibly light and agile.

After his fierce battle with Vegeta, his fighting skills had improved by leaps and bounds.

Learning through battle was a Saiyan trait, too.

"H-How strong!"

Goku felt more pressure than ever before, and sweat had already appeared on his forehead.

"Kaio-ken x3!"

Goku shouted, increasing his power once again.

His muscles bulged, and the red energy around him grew even denser.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

His fists blurred like the wind, and the sound of them slicing through the air rang out without pause.

With a battle power of 24,000, he could finally just barely keep up with Ji Yun's speed.

Most of his punches and kicks landed on Ji Yun as well.

But they still couldn't hurt him.

Seeing that they'd played around enough,

Ji Yun struck like lightning, driving a heavy punch into Goku's chest.

The devastating blow made the red energy surrounding Goku vanish. He was sent flying more than ten meters!

The impact made his eyes roll back, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

Everyone hurried over to check on him.

Goku managed to lift his eyelids. He saw the blurry figures of the others through the narrow slits.

Then everything went black, and he passed out!
