Krillin looked at Ji Yun stretched out on the sofa, then at carefree Goku. A hint of despair settled over his already heavy heart.
"It's over. We're finished. If what Ji Yun said is true, we'll all be done for in a year!" Krillin clutched his bald head, his face contorted with distress.
Master Roshi looked at Ji Yun with hope, wishing he would say that he'd only been joking and that Earth was perfectly safe.
Ji Yun ignored their gazes.
He understood that he had been the one to say Vegeta and Nappa were coming to Earth, rather than letting Raditz reveal it as in the original story.
So, in their despair, everyone desperately hoped that he'd made the whole thing up.
"It's not that bad yet. We still have a year, don't we? And I'll fight alongside you," Ji Yun said casually.
Nappa wasn't much of a threat, and Vegeta was still weak as hell. What was there to worry about?
He had already accepted the system's task. If the two of them didn't show up, he'd be disappointed!
"That's right. Ji Yun is right. We still have time. I believe that under the pressure of the crisis ahead, you'll all make tremendous progress this year!" Master Roshi said with a nod.
At last, the furrow in his brow eased a little.
He didn't believe they could make much progress in just one year. It was Ji Yun's final remark that had reassured him.
At the same time, a sigh of relief came from the distant Lookout.
"Goku, come to the Lookout when you have time. I'll take you somewhere to train!"

He could hardly wait. After saying goodbye to everyone, he flew off toward the horizon.
He even left his own son with Krillin, asking him to take Gohan to Chi-Chi!
Krillin watched Goku disappear into the distance.
He, too, felt inspired and decided to begin training in earnest to prepare for the challenge a year from now.
"Master, could you take Gohan back for me? I'm going to start training too!"
Krillin's gaze was now resolute, and all his earlier dejection was gone.
Master Roshi took the still-sleeping Gohan and looked at his disciple with pride.
Without another word, Krillin leapt into the air and flew toward the horizon.
"Mr. Ji Yun, I'll take my leave as well," Master Roshi said, bidding Ji Yun farewell.
He carefully added that he hoped Ji Yun would be there a year from now to help them repel the Saiyan invasion.
"Mm, don't worry. I'll fight. Take care," Ji Yun replied casually, glancing at Master Roshi.
He didn't dislike Master Roshi. The old man might be a bit of a pervert, but he understood what was right and was even willing to sacrifice himself to protect his friends.
"Thank you, then!"
Master Roshi didn't linger.
He opened the aircraft he carried with him and set off toward Kame House.
In an instant, the once lively living room was completely empty.
Only Ji Yun remained in the huge living room. With the room silent around him, he drifted off to sleep.
"Huh? Where is everyone?" Bulma wondered when she saw the empty living room.
When she spotted Ji Yun still dozing on the sofa, she felt relieved.
