The Shadow Servant flew out automatically, ready to absorb Archbishop Guy's soul. At that moment, a white gate of light appeared in the sky, and Archbishop Guy's soul was about to fly toward it.
In David's perception, the white gate of light did not emit the slightest trace of energy. If it had not physically appeared, he would have been unable to detect it through any of his other senses.

If not for the Shadow Servant, a lifeform created specifically to deal with souls, Archbishop Guy's soul might truly have been taken back to the God of War's small world.
But the Shadow Servant was exceptionally special. Even god-level souls could not escape before it, much less a Legendary-ranked soul like Archbishop Guy's.
The Shadow Servant pounced forward and devoured Archbishop Guy's soul before it could enter the white gate of light.
Having failed to draw in Archbishop Guy, the white gate of light seemed to trigger some kind of mechanism. It unleashed a pulling force toward the Shadow Servant.
The Shadow Servant did not move normally. It moved like spatial flickering. After absorbing Archbishop Guy's soul, it vanished from its original spot in an instant, narrowly avoiding the pull of the white gate of light.
After all, the white gate of light was merely a special pattern attached to Archbishop Guy's soul, activated after his death. It could not truly draw upon the small world's energy, and the power it unleashed was extremely limited.
At that moment, the white gate of light exhausted its energy as well, dissolving helplessly into specks of white starlight.
David hesitated
