Geshwen, the Noble Affairs Minister, sat in the alchemical carriage, his gaze drifting toward the window from time to time. Protected by five Level 4 Sky Knights, he was receiving treatment that probably only top aristocratic families could enjoy.

Most Level 4 Sky Knights were proud and unruly. They would only submit to those of greater strength or to top aristocrats.

Although Geshwen held a position in the Noble Affairs Office, he was not qualified to receive such treatment.

Level 4 Sky Knights held very high status within the Noble Affairs Office. Though their administrative ranks were lower than Geshwen's, their social standing was somewhat higher than his.

With five Level 4 Sky Knights outside while he sat inside the carriage, Geshwen truly felt a little uncomfortable.

"There's still some time before we reach the Portal. Have a bowl of our local specialty, Warmheart Lotus Seed Soup!" David noticed Geshwen's discomfort and, smiling, took a bowl of Warmheart Lotus Seed Soup from his space Pendant and placed it before him.

Time stood still within the space Pendant, so the Warmheart Lotus Seed Soup was still steaming when it was taken out. A refreshing fragrance spread through the carriage.

Since Geshwen was only an ordinary person, David had reduced the portion of Warmheart Lotus Seed Soup. It was merely the maximum amount Geshwen could withstand.

"Looks like I can enjoy it without even reaching Qinya Manor!" Drawn in by the scent, and with his friend David beside him, Geshwen forgot all about the five Level 4 Sky Knights outside.

The Warmheart Lotus Seed Soup, made with cooking that surpassed the master level, utterly intoxicated Geshwen.

It was not until the alchemical carriage arrived before the enormous Portal that Geshwen finally woke from his lingering aftertaste.
