Inside the grand hall, beneath the gaze of twelve divine statues, twelve Level Five bishops had gathered together.
These were all the Level Five bishops Twilight of the Gods could summon on short notice. Every one of them floated in the air with solemn expressions.
The atmosphere in the hall was exceedingly oppressive. A divine oracle had arrived from a god—one of the rare major events since Twilight of the Gods had been established.
It so happened that all twelve Level Five bishops had been recalled earlier and had not yet departed, so they gathered to discuss how to respond.
"Everyone, you have surely received the divine oracle from the great Death God. Tell me your thoughts!" It was still Ironside, the Level Five bishop who believed in the God of Fire, presiding over the meeting.
Level Five Bishop Ironside did not state his own position. Defying the oracle was not a major matter to him, as the Death God was not the god he worshipped.
But he also knew he could not be the first to suggest it, or he would provoke the Death God's wrath.
"Pursue Lord Arthur? What are we supposed to use to pursue him?" Level Five Bishop Kingsley asked with faint mockery.
His voice, neither male nor female, shifted continuously throughout that single sentence, revealing that his emotions were far less calm than he appeared.
