Background / History

Tang Hao fled through the mountains with Ah Yin and their newborn son while Qian Xunji and Martial Soul Hall pursued them. Ah Yin sacrificed herself to ensure their escape, leaving behind a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, and a seed. The ring elevated Tang Hao to Title Douluo; he then used the Great Sumeru Hammer's ring detonation to severely wound Qian Xunji before escaping with the child. 9 13

During the flight from Martial Soul Hall, Tang Hao noticed that the infant in Ah Yin's arms abruptly stopped crying and later behaved unlike an ordinary child, including speaking of foreign cultivation methods and Tang Sect techniques. These circumstances led to suspicions that Tang San's body had been occupied by another soul. 2

He subsequently concealed himself in Holy Soul Village as an impoverished blacksmith. During Tang Chuan's childhood, he drank heavily, neglected him, and expected the child to cook, wash, fetch water, and chop wood. He also tried to forbid Tang Chuan from attending Nuoding Academy after the latter awakened Innate Full Soul Power and Blue Silver Grass. 1 15 117

After Tang Chuan rejected him and surpassed him, Tang Hao pursued godhood by travelling to Sea God Island. He triggered the Sea God Eight Trials and later became the island's High Priest. However, Poseidon subsequently ordered Bo Saixi to rebuke him for his treatment of Tang Chuan and compel him to kneel, apologize, and acknowledge his faults. 265 310 311 312

Later revelations portray Ah Yin's exposure to Martial Soul Hall as the result of Tang Hao deliberately placing her in danger to obtain her hundred-thousand-year spirit ring. The consequences implicated the Clear Sky Sect and eventually led Tang Chen, Tang Xiao, and Tang Lie to disown and exile him from the sect. Ah Yin later repeated this accusation directly to the Peerless Tang Sect era through the inter-realm chat room, warning her future counterpart not to trust Tang Hao. 445 542

He repeatedly treats parental authority and Clear Sky Sect bloodline as grounds for Tang Chuan's obedience, demanding that his son renounce his noble title, surrender spirit bones, and return to the sect. When Tang Chuan refuses, Tang Hao responds with anger rather than accountability. 183 119

His relationship with Tang San is markedly different in the Black World. Though Tang San also endured a harsh childhood, Tang Hao later rescues him from Martial Soul City, trains him for two years, teaches him the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, and supports his goal of protecting Xiao Wu. 140 162

Despite this protective conduct, Tang Hao regards Xiao Wu's hundred-thousand-year soul beast status as a potential resource for Tang San.
