Background / History

Tang Xiao is the Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect, elder brother of Tang Hao, and uncle to Tang Chuan. He once stepped aside after learning that Ah Yin loved Tang Hao, believing his brother would make her happy; later events left him regretful and deeply dissatisfied with Tang Hao's conduct. 117

After learning that Tang Hao had neglected Tang Chuan during childhood, Tang Xiao joined Tang Lie in attacking Tang Hao and escorting him to Heaven Dou Imperial City to apologize to Tang Chuan. 117 118

Tang Xiao later sought to repair the Clear Sky Sect's relationship with Tang Chuan. He supported Bai He and the Speed Clan joining the nascent Qingdi Sect, and personally taught Tang Chuan the Clear Sky Sect's core hammer techniques. Tang Chuan refused to accept the instruction as a free favor, instead exchanging the Fusion Divine Weapon Method and Bone-Piercing Blood Dragon Ginseng. 191 200

After witnessing Tang Chuan's nine-ring configuration and three hundred-thousand-year soul rings, Tang Xiao recognized that Tang Chuan's strength may have reached—or surpassed—the level of Tang Chen. He subsequently proposed an alliance between the Clear Sky Sect and Qingdi Sect. 303
