Joining the Team Mission
Lynch came out of Dunn's office, changed into his trainee inspector's uniform, and looked at himself in the mirror with a smug grin. He was incredibly handsome; he was practically the face of the Tingen Nighthawks team.
He then took his six-pound Walking Stick and headed from the security company to the police station.
Dunn told him to go to the police station and find Mountbatten first, as Mountbatten was in charge of the case.
When Lynch arrived at the police station, Mountbatten was already waiting at the door.
"He looks very promising; he's already showing signs of becoming a bureau chief."
Lynch praised Mountbatten, saying that before he thought Mountbatten was just a gangster boss, but now he seemed much more normal and even had an air of authority.
"It's all thanks to you! If you hadn't assigned all the cases to me from the Seventh Group, I wouldn't have been promoted so quickly!"
Mountbatten is not yet the director, but he is one step away from becoming the deputy director. Once the current deputy director is transferred, his position will be his.
"That's because you did a good job, so my recommendation can be explained. If you hadn't done a good job, no matter how much I recommended you, no one would have come to you."
Lynch grinned and patted himself on the back.
Actually, he hadn't thought about Mountbatten at all during this time. It was probably because Dunn and the others saw that he had a good relationship with Mountbatten, so they took special care of him.
However, Dunn was only saying this out of respect for him, so he wasn't wrong.
Mountbatten was moved by Lynch, and the two of them went through a touching scene of mutual flattery outside the police station before finally getting down to business.
"I heard you need to ensure Ms. Francis's safety. Do you need me to bring my brothers to guard her? That way, you can have an easier time."
Mountbatten said confidently.
Lynch waved his hand.
"Listen to me, there are some things you shouldn't get involved in. The case has come to me, so it's a big deal. You might die there. Let me warn you, that Ms. Francis is a terrifying person. We need to let them know as soon as possible that Ms. Francis is leaving soon."
I will have Ms. Francis put up a big poster outside her house, stating that she will be leaving in two days. All you have to do is spread the word and let the people behind the scenes know as soon as possible that Ms. Francis is leaving.
Lynch said cautiously.
Mountbatten looked at him in surprise.
Are the people behind the scenes really that scary?
"Some things are confidential, and I can't tell anyone. You need to understand one thing: if they're serious, they can kill everyone in your police station here."
Of course, if such a big case really happens, the higher-ups will send people to investigate thoroughly. Ince Zangwill is only Sequence 5 and hasn't reached the level of a demigod yet!
"Hiss, this Ms. Francis has gotten herself into big trouble. I understand. I'll spread the word as soon as possible."
Mountbatten quickly replied.
What Lynch was most pleased with was this guy's sensibility.
"Let's go, now to Ms. Francis's house. I need to convince her to put up a big poster on her door."
Golden Wutong District.
The carriage stopped outside Ms. Francis's gate, where two teams of bodyguards stood, watching Lynch and Mountbatten cautiously.
"We've spoken with Ms. Francis; we're here to handle this case, so get out of the way!"
Mountbatten looked at the two teams of bodyguards with disdain, not taking them seriously at all.
"Wait, officers, we need to report to Ms. Francis first; it's our duty."
Their captain quickly came over to offer cigarettes to Lynch and Mountbatten. Lynch readily accepted them, but refused when the captain offered to light them for him.
I don't smoke.
The other person was stunned for a moment before realizing that this non-smoker had taken his cigarettes.
"Then let's..."
The other person was about to light Mountbatten's cigarette again, because Mountbatten kept sniffing it.
"No, no, this guy doesn't smoke, so I won't smoke in front of him."
Mountbatten sighed and reluctantly stuffed the cigarette into his pocket.
"Then I won't smoke anymore."
The other party was surprised for a moment, then realized that the young and handsome guy was in charge among the two police officers.
"My name is Walker Dodd. May I ask how you two officers are addressed?"
Lynch Trans.
"Beech Mountbatten."
Lynch and his companion briefly stated their names, and then a woman who looked to be in her thirties came out.
"Great! Finally, someone's taking care of me! I swear, I'll never come to Tingen again. This place is no good!"
Ms. Francis?
Lynch was taken aback; he realized that the woman didn't seem afraid at all.
After experiencing so much, are you numb?
Or perhaps it's just an act in front of them?
Lynch lightly tapped his tongue against the roof of his mouth, activated his Spirit Vision to look at the woman, and soon he gave a wry smile.
As he was using his Spirit Vision to observe the woman, she happened to look over at him, and his Spirituality awareness almost warned him to run away.
This woman is either a demigod or Sequence 5, no wonder she's not afraid at all.
It's probably not that Ince Zangwill didn't want to kill him, it's simply that he couldn't.
This guy probably has some trump cards up his sleeve; holding his own against Ince Zangwill and 008 for a month is pretty impressive.
How come so many big shots have gathered in such a small place Tingen?
I don't know what this is for.
"You two junior police officers, are you going to help or not? What are you standing there doing, not moving an inch?"
Ms. Francis looked at Lynch with displeasure.
Lynch deactivated his Spirit Vision and immediately told Mountbatten to leave.
"We don't need you here, just leave!"
Mountbatten paused for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening and immediately walked outside.
Lynch was left alone to look at the woman.
The woman led Lynch into the living room and dismissed all the servants. Then, she looked at Lynch with a half-smile and said, "You're quite bold, little Beyonder."
Lynch felt he wasn't being brave, but rather unlucky.
Do you know what Angel are?
Francis frowned at him, wondering why he would bring up Angel.
"I am the only surviving descendant of the Angel!"
Francis:...
She rushed into the room, whether to ask questions or to pray, but when she came out, she had lowered her posture.
"Honey, what's your name? I'll protect you from now on!"
Lynch Trans.
After introducing himself, Lynch immediately asked the woman about her purpose.
Why did you come to Tingen?
Francis sighed.
She didn't hide anything.
"I sensed something big was going to happen here, so I wanted to get some benefits, but I didn't expect to be discovered so soon after I arrived."
I've always planned to leave, but I can't leave at all. Every time I try to leave, something happens that threatens my life.
If you can help me get out of here, I'll owe you a favor.
Lynch then realized that it wasn't that the woman was putting up a fight against Ince Zangwill and 008, but rather that Ince Zangwill had no intention of letting her go.
That's true. Who knows how much trouble a Sequence 5 would cause if they ran away? Ince Zangwill certainly doesn't want to create trouble for himself.
However, this woman must have done something related to Ince Zangwill's plan, otherwise Ince Zangwill wouldn't have dared to involve a Sequence 5 in this matter.
He thought for a moment and asked, "Was the Antigonus Notebook among the shipment you lost?"
