Introduction: Strong, with a low sensitivity to pain. Unless a firearm hits a vital spot, it is difficult to kill. One of the monsters new Survivors may encounter after their seven-day protection period ends. While the island's protective power remains in effect during those seven days, it won't attack the island, though it may appear nearby. It's best not to do anything stupid like diving underwater.

Combat assessment: On land, you can fight it and win. Underwater, it can wear you down until you die.

"Could that brave guy from the Communication Channel who went diving have run into one of these things?"

With a fleeting glimpse, Su Yu had caught sight of the monster's body as it slipped back beneath the water. Naturally, he had used Insight to learn what it was.

Su Yu wasn't particularly panicked. Much of human fear came from the unknown; once all the information was laid out in front of them, many people could accept it very quickly.

After several thoughts flashed through his mind, Su Yu quickly scanned the area of sea illuminated by his light. But after looking all around, he couldn't spot the Water Monkey anywhere.

"Could it have gone deeper, somewhere I can't use Insight?"

After thinking it over where he stood, Su Yu couldn't be bothered to dwell on it. Insight Talent had already warned him that even if that thing planned to attack the island, it would have to wait until the newbie protection period was over. There was no point worrying about it now. He was better off fishing up more items and boosting his own strength.

And so, carefree Su Yu began searching for a suitable fishing spot again.

After scanning the area, Su Yu shifted position and locked onto a fishing spot. He expertly baited his hook with Enhanced Bait and cast it out. Then began the dull wait.

He wasn't sure whether night fishing came with some hidden buff, but he'd been prepared to wait ten or twenty minutes for the underwater chest to take the bait.

Yet less than three minutes after the bait hit the water, the float suddenly plunged beneath the surface.

Description: Forged from Hundred-Refined Black Iron. It can cut through iron as if it were mud, and is incredibly sharp.

Detailed information: The saber is 118 cm long, with a blade 3.5 cm wide. The blade is straight, with a curve in the final quarter near the tip and a false edge.

"Oh, a close-combat weapon." After reading the prompt that floated before him, a thought sprang to Su Yu's mind.

Following the guidance from Insight Talent, Su Yu didn't have to spend long hauling the chest up from the water.

After all, Su Yu's constitution and strength had both improved considerably, so fishing up a chest took much less effort now.

The moment the chest reached shore, Su Yu eagerly opened the five-star chest. In an instant, under the effect of Double Happiness, two Hundred-Refined Goose-Quill Sabers stood planted in the ground right in front of him.

A cold glint flashed across the blades where they were stuck in the ground, a testament to their unrivaled sharpness.

Su Yu reached out, gripped a hilt, drew the saber, and gave it a casual swing. He immediately found it incredibly comfortable to wield, whether in terms of weight or anything else.

An ordinary Survivor who got their hands on a Hundred-Refined Goose-Quill Saber at this point wouldn't be able to bring out much of its power. Their strength and constitution wouldn't be up to the task. They'd be panting with exhaustion after just a few swings.

Su Yu, on the other hand, had enough strength and constitution to wield the saber fluidly, which was why it felt so natural in his hands. Before his attributes had improved, he probably wouldn't have been much different from the other Survivors.

"With a blade this sharp, I could take a Water Monkey's head off with one swing, couldn't I?" Su Yu tapped the blade with his finger, using the Water Monkey as a point of comparison.

First, he silently mourned for three seconds for the Water Monkey that had set its sights on Su Yu's island.

Su Yu then began hacking away with the Hundred-Refined Goose-Quill Saber, without any particular form. After swinging it through the air more than a dozen times, he casually slid it back into its sheath.

With Su Yu's strength and constitution now, if a Sea Monkey dared to come ashore, it would absolutely be cut down in one swing.

It was true that Su Yu had never systematically practiced saber techniques, but a wild flurry could still kill a seasoned master. With enough strength and speed, when Su Yu swung, a creature like the Water Monkey—with lower base attributes than him—would find it very difficult to dodge.

After his night fishing got off to a great start, Su Yu strolled along the edge of the island again.

Su Yu took the Simple Fishing Net from one of the goblins, expertly baited it with ten portions of Common Bait, then tossed it out.

The Simple Fishing Net really was a beginner's treasure in the early game for someone like Su Yu, who had an absurd amount of Common Bait!

After tying the net's rope in place, Su Yu found another spot in the same way and tossed out the other net.

Meanwhile, Wang Teng, who was also still awake and had chosen to go night fishing, just like Su Yu, was scared out of his wits.

It had just happened. Wang Teng had propped up the two large flashlights he'd gotten from a treasure chest he'd fished up during the day. The very next moment, just as he was about to relieve his bladder by the sea, a pitch-black figure suddenly flashed across the water not far from him.

The sight made Wang Teng shudder all over. He nearly pissed on his hand.

A few seconds later, when Wang Teng came to his senses, he quickly backed up a few steps, pulled up his pants at top speed, and stared nervously at the sea.

"Damn it, could there be a Sea Ghost?" Thinking of the Jinpos and Sea Ghosts from all those horror stories, Wang Teng swallowed hard to ease the pressure building inside him.

"Shit, I couldn't have imagined it, could I?" At the thought, Wang Teng pinched his thigh hard.

The next second, he sucked in a sharp breath from the pain.

"Argh, damn it all! There really are monsters in the sea!"
