To most natives of the Endless Continent, the Storm Ocean was a mysterious and forbidden region.
It sealed off the seas east of the continent, cutting off all hope of exploration by sea.
Countless sailors and explorers had regarded conquering the Storm Ocean as a challenge.
Yet after so many years, no news of anyone successfully crossing it had ever returned.
Over time, no one dared set foot there.
Moreover, the Storm Ocean lay far from the coastline. The deeper one sailed, the fewer islands there were to stop at and resupply.
Although spatial storage items and elemental spellcasters could be used to carry as much food and fresh water as possible, the seas surrounding the Endless Continent remained terrifyingly vast.
An ordinary sailing ship equipped with Wind Element magical artifacts would need at least a dozen years to reach the edge of the Storm Ocean.
Even a mana-powered paddle steamer with sails would take nearly ten years to arrive.
The waters near the Endless Continent were not a forbidden zone. In fact, vast stretches of ocean were normal, resource-rich seas where islands of all sizes could often be found.
Races such as the Naga, deep-sea mermen, sirens, and merfolk all lived within this range.
The Storm Ocean was more like a forbidden zone.
Similar forbidden zones existed in the oceans on all four sides of the Endless Continent.
It was just that aside from the Storm Ocean, there were other terrifying forms of forbidden zones as well.
There were not even many ordinary marine creatures in the Storm Ocean.
Instead, it was filled with all manner of barren sea monsters.
They rarely ventured into normal seas, forming their own ecosystem.
Yet even the weakest among those sea monsters would be an outright biological killer if placed in ordinary waters.
