Geography
The Endless Continent is a supermassive landmass surrounded by oceans. Its terrain is highly varied, shaped by its immense scale, magical influences, ancient battlefields, and incursions from other dimensions. 363 653
- Its northern portion is pointed, while the southern coastline is comparatively rounded; island chains are especially numerous to the southeast and south. 994
- Different climates coexist simultaneously across the continent, with snowfall, wind, and rain occurring in separate regions at the same time. 1431
- The sun and moon visible above the continent are independent dimensional worlds rather than ordinary celestial bodies. 1005
- Conventional travel between major regions can take months or years. Flying mounts, magic-energy vehicles, teleportation arrays, dimensional passages, and hearthstones are essential for long-distance movement. 461 750 972
Major Regions and States
| Region / State | Known characteristics |
|---|---|
| Avalon Kingdom | Located in the eastern portion of the continent; its eastern lands include grasslands, basins, valleys, mountains, and river systems. 653 |
| Northern Frontier | A frozen region covering nearly one-fifth of the continent. The Wall of Despair separates it from the Everfrost Region, homeland of the Others. 968 1218 |
| Sarranid Sultanate | The largest of the major human kingdoms by territory; much of it consists of desert and sandy expanses. 994 1668 |
| Kingdom of Rhodok | A northwestern kingdom and one of the continent's largest powers. 994 |
| Eastern Coast | Includes routes through Bosbang, Dajialisini Great City, Haiya Great City, and Ailalaya Port. 363 |
| Storm Ocean | A hostile sea region that blocks eastern maritime exploration with severe storms, lightning, chaotic mana, and distorted space. 969 1331 |
Surrounding Seas
The oceans around the continent contain catastrophe zones that function as an isolation belt. These regions can span tens or hundreds of millions of nautical miles and cannot reliably be bypassed through spatial means. 969
- Storm Sea Region — eastern sea route barrier. 969
- Mist Sea Region — southeastern maritime catastrophe zone. 969
- Thunderstorm Sea Region — southern maritime catastrophe zone. 969
- Catastrophe Sea Region — separates the Endless Continent from the suspected Eastern Continent; even demigod-level explorers have failed to cross it reliably. 969
Inhabitants and Civilization
The continent hosts humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, goblins, dragon-descended creatures, magical beasts, demons, undead, and numerous other intelligent or invasive races. 461 1067
Human Kingdoms
The seven major indigenous human kingdoms occupy more than 80% of the continent's land territory. 1044
- Kingdom of Swadia
- Vigia Kingdom
- Nord Kingdom
- Avalon Kingdom
- Sarranid Sultanate
- Khergit Kingdom
- Kingdom of Rhodok 1044
Human settlements follow a layered administrative structure:
- Villages and settlements support Bang Cities.
- Bang Cities govern surrounding villages and settlements.
- Great Cities oversee multiple Bang Cities and can sustain populations in the tens of millions. 1050 832
Magic is integrated into everyday production, warfare, transportation, construction, medicine, rune forging, alchemy, and teleportation technology. 950 958
History
Ancient and Desolate Eras
The continent's remote past included giants, True Dragons, ancient behemoths, and civilizations whose knowledge has largely disappeared. The Frozen Ancient Battlefield dates to this desolate era. 1243 1244
Ancient ruins, sealed entities, lost crafting methods, and remnants of earlier civilizations remain scattered throughout the continent. Many regions have never been fully explored or developed. 376 1064
Previous Era and Dimensional War
At the end of the previous era, the Blood-Burning Demons invaded through massive dimensional passages. Their legions nearly overwhelmed the continent's races before the Condemners intervened and shattered the invasion. 864 908
The conflict disrupted the normal transition between eras:
- A mysterious existence exploited loopholes during the era transition and dimensional war.
- Part of the continent's original rules was stolen.
- The resulting irregularity caused a ten-thousand-year historical blank period. 941
- The Lord System has sealed information about this missing period, preventing even the Strategy Module from accessing it. 864
Current Era
Human kingdoms began rising more than ten thousand years after the previous era's collapse, eventually becoming the dominant political powers. 864 1044
Records of earlier “Chosen Ones,” the repeated appearance of Lords, and the rise and fall of civilizations lead Zong Shen to believe that the continent undergoes recurring cycles of selection, expansion, kingdom founding, and destruction. 651 888
Dimensional Phenomena
The Endless Continent is connected to numerous planes, domains, demiplanes, and dimensional worlds. Dimensional disturbances have repeatedly scarred its geography and introduced foreign species or powers. 387 1042
Unknown Regions
Spatial nodes beneath the world connect to small, unusual spaces called Unknown Regions. Each possesses a unique cyclical ecosystem and is attached to the continent's world-crystal-wall system. 387
Dimensional Invasions
Dimensional rifts can create portals through which outside creatures enter the continent. Such incursions may leave lasting areas where foreign laws and energies persist for tens of thousands of years. 1042
- The Eye of Cthulhu originates from an unknown lawless realm beyond the Lord System's available records. 897 898
- The Salvaden Arcane World was destroyed in a catastrophic war; fragments of its Origin Arcane Crystal penetrated the Endless Continent's dimensional barrier. 832
- The Blood-Burning Demon Dimension invaded during the previous era's failed transition. 864 941
The Lord System has broad authority over the Endless Continent and many recorded worlds, but entities from unknown domains demonstrate that its authority has limits. 898
Lord System and Era Change
The Lord System oversees the descent, development, and challenges of successive generations of Lords. Earthlings, including Zong Shen, were brought into the Global Lords era and placed within the continent's framework. 1 4
The System's challenges encourage Lords to acquire resources, establish territories, defeat threats, and ultimately build civilizations capable of replacing the old order. 651 936
- The continent's opening triggers competition for territory and resources between Lords and native factions. 1238
- Ancient ruins and inherited items are distributed across the vast land, preventing early monopolization by any single force. 971
- The Second Act, Third Act, and later stages represent escalating phases in the Lords' development and struggle for supremacy. 651 888
- The Third Act is regarded as a possible final challenge that may force Lords to consolidate the continent's resources rapidly. 1812
Cyclical Disasters
Demon Moon Cycle
Every 9,999 years, the moon turns blood-red and triggers the Demon Moon Cycle. Mindless beasts and magical beasts become frenzied, while monsters and rare materials such as Gray Meteor Iron descend from the blood moon. 1405
Eternal Night Calamity
The Night King and the Others once threatened the Northern Frontier through the Everfrost Curse. Zong Shen later slew the Night King, ending the Eternal Night Calamity and becoming the first Lord to ascend to godhood. 968 1769
Story Role / Major Arcs
- The Endless Continent becomes the setting of the Global Lords era, where Earthlings are summoned to establish territories and survive. 1 4
- Its vast distances, native kingdoms, ruins, and dangerous ecosystems shape Zong Shen's early territorial expansion. 363 641
- Evidence of past Lords, dimensional wars, and erased history turns the continent itself into the central mystery of Zong Shen's investigations. 651 864 888
- The continent's opening intensifies competition between Lords and indigenous powers for land, cities, resources, and political control. 1238 1527
- Zong Shen's campaigns increasingly treat the continent as a strategic whole, with kingdoms becoming pieces in his plans for continental dominance. 1738
- After Zong Shen's ascension and the Night King's death, his actions alter the continent's fate and accelerate conflicts that were previously expected to unfold over years. 1769 1813
