Background / History

The Spirit Pagoda is a ten-thousand-year-old organization founded by Huo Yuhao. Its research into artificial Soul Spirits made it indispensable to Soul Masters, allowing it to expand across all three continents into one of the world’s most influential powers 2 344.

Its Soul Spirit technology became central to the Soul Master system. The organization controls the research, manufacture, and distribution of Soul Spirits across the Douluo Continent; its network reaches into every walk of life 286 301 344.

The organization’s history is also tied to the Body Sect’s decline. Huo Yuhao allegedly failed to return Body Sect secret manuals entrusted to him, including a method for safely conducting the secondary awakening of Body Martial Souls. Without that inheritance, the Body Sect’s awakenings became unstable and the sect nearly collapsed during later wars 67.

Descriptions of the headquarters vary across periods: it is identified as an eighty-one-story landmark in early accounts, while its later central tower is described as rising over one hundred meters and reaching into the clouds 2 290 344.

Spirit Ascension Platform

The Spirit Ascension Platform is a sub-world cultivation environment operated by the Spirit Pagoda. Soul Masters may hunt Soul Beasts within it and absorb their released spiritual light halos to increase the soul-limit of their Soul Spirits 32.

Soul Spirit Pagoda

Its trial layers generate Soul Power constructs based on recorded Soul Beast data. These constructs possess simulated instincts, hunting ability, and coordinated combat behavior despite not being living creatures 291.

Political Role

The Spirit Pagoda long maintained a complicated relationship with Shrek Academy. Leng Yaozhu viewed the two institutions as historic partners and “twin jewels” of Shrek City, citing their connection through founder Huo Yuhao 344.

Qiangu Dongfeng rejected that view. He believed Shrek treated the Spirit Pagoda as a subordinate rather than an equal, and he pursued independence from Shrek’s influence 344 345.

Cooperation with the Holy Spirit Cult

Qiangu Dongfeng secretly agreed to provide legal identities through the Spirit Pagoda’s network to facilitate the Holy Spirit Cult’s infiltration of Federation defenses. In exchange, the Cult would help remove Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect as obstacles to Spirit Pagoda expansion 301.

Alignment During the Federation Crisis

Following Situ Xuan’s seizure of power in Mingdu, Qiangu Dongfeng dispatched Han Tianyi, Qiangu Zhangting, and Gu Yuena to observe events and potentially aid Situ Xuan’s side against Shrek 754.

The organization later prepared to join Federation forces against Shrek and the Tang Sect, but Qiangu Dieting’s return halted the deployment. He argued that open ambition would endanger the Spirit Pagoda and advised preserving its strength through neutrality and concession 801 802.

Submission to the Federation

After Situ Xuan demonstrated overwhelming power, Qiangu Dieting and the Spirit Pagoda’s senior members submitted to him. The organization was compelled to:

• Share all Soul Spirit technology, spatial teleportation technology, and high-level Soul Guidance research with the Federal Academy of Sciences 809
• Merge its research institute into the Federal Academy of Sciences 809
• Pay taxes under Federation policy 809
