Changes at Blue Tyrant Academy
Blue Tyrant Academy.
The group stood at the academy gate, looking at the scene before them, all somewhat stunned.
The once bustling academy gates are now deserted, not a soul in sight.
The gate was wide open, and a few withered leaves were scattered on the open ground in front of it, swirling and drifting away in the wind.
The guardhouse was empty; the tea on the table was still steaming, but the person was nowhere to be found.
Liu Erlong's face immediately darkened.
Ignoring the crowd behind her, she rushed into the academy.
Flender and Yu Xiaogang exchanged a glance and quickly followed. Dai Weisi and the others looked at each other, but had no choice but to follow as well.
Crossing the front yard and the playground, the place was deserted and eerily quiet.
Liu Erlong's pace quickened, and he almost ran into the administration building.
The academic affairs director was sitting in his office, looking at a stack of files with a headache.
Hearing footsteps, he looked up and saw Liu Erlong. He jumped to his feet, a look of surprise flashing across his face, which was quickly replaced by a complex mix of emotions.
"Dean! You're finally back!" His voice carried a mixture of relief and unspeakable bitterness.
Looking at his appearance, Liu Erlong's bad premonition grew stronger.
She took a deep breath and asked in a low voice:
"What's going on at the academy? Where are they?"
The dean of academic affairs opened his mouth, his gaze unconsciously drifting to Yu Xiaogang standing behind Liu Erlong, before quickly looking away.
He sighed, pushed the stack of files on the table in front of Liu Erlong, and said with a wry smile:
"Dean, please see for yourself."
Liu Erlong looked down.
It was a thick stack of withdrawal applications, at least a hundred of them.
She flipped through the pages one by one, each one bearing a familiar name and the same reason: due to the close relationship between the Blue Tyrant Academy and Yu Xiaogang, and for the safety of her children, she was applying to withdraw from the school.
Her fingers clenched tighter and tighter, the paper crumpling into a ball in her palm.
"After the news about that incident at the Beichen Academy spread," the dean of academic affairs said in a low voice, with a hint of helplessness:
"The parents in the academy couldn't sit still anymore. First a few, then a group, and finally the entire academic affairs office was filled with them. They were all there to withdraw their children's studies. No matter how we tried to persuade them, it was no use. Those parents said that since Blue Tyrant Academy was associated with that fraudster who caused the student's Martial Soul to shatter, the academy was doomed sooner or later."
He paused, looking at Liu Erlong's face, which was as black as the bottom of a pot, and lowered his voice even further:
"In the past few days, those who could leave have already left. The remaining few have all submitted their withdrawal applications, and they'll probably leave in the next couple of days as well."
He paused, his voice lowering even further:
"Right now, there are fewer than thirty students left in the academy."
Less than thirty.
Liu Erlong's face darkened visibly.
"This is outrageous!!!"
Liu Erlong slammed his hand on the table, sending the stack of withdrawal applications flying. The papers scattered in the air and fluttered to the ground.
Her chest heaved violently, her eyes blazing with anger, and she turned to rush out.
"I'm going to settle accounts with them!"
"Erlong!" Yu Xiaogang grabbed her arm.
Liu Erlong struggled to shake him off, her voice urgent and forceful:
"Let me go! Why! Why are you bullying me like this!"
"Why should they just withdraw from the academy that I, Liu Erlong, painstakingly built?! Why?!"
"So what if their Beichen Academy is so great! I'm going to find that Tianqing Douluo and settle this matter with him!"
"Erlong!" Yu Xiaogang emphasized, tightening his grip.
He looked into Liu Erlong's bloodshot eyes and said, word by word:
"What can you do if you go now? Can you defeat Titled Douluo? Can you outmaneuver those Enforcement Elder?"
Liu Erlong froze abruptly. She opened her mouth, but couldn't utter a single word in rebuttal.
Flender stepped forward, took her other arm, and whispered:
"Erlong, Xiao Gang is right. Going now will only make things worse."
Liu Erlong stood there, his chest heaving violently, the anger in his eyes gradually replaced by an indescribable sense of grievance and helplessness.
She gritted her teeth, her eyes red-rimmed, but she stubbornly held back her tears.
Just then, the dean of academic affairs spoke again, his voice tinged with caution:
"Dean, there's one more thing."
Zhou Yi's gaze fell on Yu Xiaogang, a complex light flashing in his eyes.
He naturally recognized this person—the spark that turmoil at the Beichen Academy, the root cause of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's destruction, and the laughingstock of the entire continent's Soul Master World.
He looked down on this person from the bottom of his heart, but since he was working at Liu Erlong's academy, he still had that much sense of propriety.
Liu Erlong took a deep breath, suppressing the surging emotions in her heart, and turned to look at him.
The dean of academic affairs looked at Yu Xiaogang, hesitated for a moment, and then said:
"You... are you Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang?"
Yu Xiaogang nodded slightly.
The academic affairs director continued, "A few days ago, two people came looking for you and the dean."
"They wouldn't say anything when we asked them anything, they wouldn't tell us their identities, they just insisted that we would tell them after we met the dean and the Grandmaster."
"We had no choice but to put them in the outbuilding in the backyard."
Yu Xiaogang was taken aback.
Liu Erlong also stopped struggling and looked at him in confusion:
"Who?"
The dean of academic affairs shook his head:
"I don't know. Those two people were wrapped up tightly and wouldn't say anything. But judging from their voices, they shouldn't be very old."
Liu Erlong and Yu Xiaogang exchanged a glance.
"Let's go take a look." Yu Xiaogang took the lead.
Liu Erlong forgot about being angry and quickly followed after him.
Flender glanced at Dai Weisi and the others, then at the dean of studies, and said:
"Wait here for a bit, we'll be right back."
Dai Weisi nodded without speaking. Dai Niesheng gave a slight bow in response.
Dai Mubai crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, looking completely indifferent.
Backyard, storage shed.
It was called a storage room, but it was really just a small shed for storing odds and ends. In the corner, there were a few old brooms and dusty tables and chairs.
Two boys sat inside, one slightly older and the other slightly younger, both dressed in black robes with their hoods pulled low, obscuring most of their faces.
Hearing footsteps, the two of them looked up at the same time.
Yu Xiaogang pushed open the door and stood in the doorway.
Liu Erlong followed behind him, peering inside.
The two boys froze when they saw the two people at the door.
The slightly larger one's lips trembled violently, and his eyes instantly reddened.
He slowly stood up, his steps faltering as if he were unsteady on his feet.
"Second Uncle..."
