Background / History

Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass in his right hand and the Clear Sky Hammer in his left. At his awakening ceremony, he conceals the hammer while Su Yuntao identifies him as having Innate Full Soul Power. Tang Hao's instruction to use the hammer to protect the grass becomes a defining clue to Tang San's hidden lineage 7 10.

His early simulated future leads him to distrust Yu Xiaogang's poison-focused development theory. Fu Shiyan reveals that Tang San's Blue Silver Grass is not a trash martial soul, warns him about Soul Shock from ten-thousand-year rings, and exposes the existence of the Clear Sky Hammer. These revelations cause Tang San to question both Yu Xiaogang and Tang Hao's secrecy regarding his mother 5 6 7.

After witnessing a simulated future in which Yu Xiaogang's ring choices poison and permanently damage the origin of his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, Tang San resolves to reject Yu Xiaogang. He enters Nuoding Academy specifically to meet Fu Shiyan, attempts to assassinate Yu Xiaogang, and ultimately asks Fu Shiyan to become his master 29 31 32 33 34.

Under Fu Shiyan's guidance, Tang San develops Blue Silver Grass through life attributes, martial-soul control, and plant-type spirit rings rather than poison. His third and fourth rings progressively restore his inherited bloodline, culminating in his autonomous awakening as the new Blue Silver Emperor 37 48 141 175.

Appearance

Following the full awakening of his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, Tang San changes so dramatically that several companions initially fail to recognize him 176 177.

  • Azure-blue hair threaded with golden highlights 176.
  • Improved physique and increased height following his awakening 176 177.
  • A bright-blue Blue Silver martial soul with silver veins and emerging golden threads during its initial awakening 142.
  • His eyes remain distinctive enough for Mo Xuan to identify him despite the transformation 177.

Personality

Tang San is disciplined, observant, and highly deliberate in combat. He remains calm against overwhelming pressure, reads the flow of battle precisely, and prefers controlling opponents and terrain over relying on brute force 22 67.

His simulated experiences leave him deeply distrustful of Yu Xiaogang and intensely protective of his father and mother. He suppresses impulsive revenge when it could endanger Tang Hao, but his anger erupts when the Clear Sky Sect insults Ah Yin or when enemies threaten those he values 31 32 150.

He treats Fu Shiyan with near-devotional respect, seeing him as both master and father figure. Tang San is also conscientious about independence: he seeks blacksmith work for physical training and living expenses rather than relying entirely on his master 38 39 48.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San wields Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. He keeps the hammer secret early on and is instructed not to attach rings to it until he understands and can balance the conflict between both martial souls 6 10 38.

  • Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver Emperor — his primary control-oriented martial soul, developed through life energy and refined manipulation.
  • Clear Sky Hammer — his hidden second martial soul; he uses it against Feng Xiaotian in a simulation, exposing it publicly 25.
  • His Blue Silver Grass's ability to coexist with the Clear Sky Hammer is evidence of its exceptional lineage rather than weakness 6.

  • Forest of Souls Locking Technique — Self-Created Soul Skill that instantly kills nine arena opponents 349.
  • Entanglement — Self-Created Soul Skill used to bind and defeat nine opponents at once, including in his eighty-first Hell Slaughter Arena victory 350.
  • In Slaughter City, he later spreads Blue Silver Grass across the arena in a single breath, crushing opponents before they can approach 352.

Mysterious Heaven Skill and Hidden Weapons

Tang San retains the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect techniques from his past-life memories 7 271.

  • Uses Mysterious Heaven Skill internal energy alongside soul power in combat 21.
  • Temporarily disables Nuoding Academy's gatekeeper with the technique 32.
  • Uses poison-tipped silver needles and metallic threads in an attempted assassination of Yu Xiaogang 32 33.
