Background / History

Tang Hao lived in seclusion at Holy Soul Village as a widowed, alcoholic blacksmith following the loss of his beloved, Ah Yin. His grief left him emotionally distant from Tang San, though he continued to work at the village smithy and retained overwhelming strength beneath his disheveled appearance. 9 48

He is a direct descendant of the Clear Sky Sect and the grandson of Tang Chen. During the sect's height, Tang Chen favored Tang Hao for his straightforward nature and talent. 339 Tang Hao later became the Haotian Douluo at age forty-four, defeated several Title Douluos in his first major battle, and severely wounded Pope Qian Xunji, whose subsequent death became a source of enmity with Martial Soul Hall. 39

After Tang San awakened the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Hao immediately recognized it and released immense killing intent, demanding to know who had witnessed the awakening. 11 Upon learning that Tang San possessed Twin Martial Souls, he embraced his son in joy and instructed him to use the hammer in his left hand to protect the grass in his right. 12

When he believed Yu Xiaogang's guidance had cost Tang San a crucial opportunity, he blamed himself and abducted Yu Xiaogang under overwhelming killing intent. 29 Nevertheless, his aggression recedes when he recognizes sincere concern for Tang San, as demonstrated by his eventual trust in Fu Shiyan. 39

Suspicious of Fu Shiyan's sudden appearance and knowledge of Ah Yin's identity, Tang Hao confronts him. After hearing Fu Shiyan's understanding of Tang San's Blue Silver Grass and Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, Tang Hao eliminates nearby Martial Soul Hall spies and leaves Tang San in Fu Shiyan's care. 39

Martial Soul Hall Decoy

Tang Hao acts as a decoy to draw Martial Soul Hall's investigation away from Fu Shiyan and Tang San. He survives pursuit by Gui Mei's team despite existing injuries, then returns primarily to learn of Tang San's cultivation progress. 102 103
