Background / History
Tang San became a god at the age of twenty-five. By the Douluo IV period, he had spent one hundred years in the Nether and another fifty-five years in the God Realm, making him at least 180 years old. Despite this, Chen Ming'er was only about twenty-nine across both lives when Tang San attempted to lecture and control him. 176
He possessed conflicting memories concerning the Emperor Auspicious Beast. One memory told him that he had successfully plotted against her; another insisted that she had sacrificed herself to Dai Yuhao and that Tang Wutong had inherited her core bloodline. 106
Before his later transformation, Tang San was publicly associated with a composed, noble image. Ma Hongjun and other former companions struggle to reconcile that image with Tang San's later brutality, paranoia, and enjoyment of torture. 400 408
Appearance
Tang San's appearance changes considerably during the story. At Level 151, he appears as a blue-gold figure with four pairs of blue wings and a golden trident. Later, after the Blue Silver Emperor's beautification effect fades, he becomes a burly man with black-purple hair and an increasingly sinister aura. 276 295
- Blue-gold form with four pairs of blue wings. 295
- Originally carried a golden trident while holding the Sea God and Asura positions. 295
- Later develops black-purple hair and a burly build. 276
- His Rakshasa transformation leaves him visibly frightening enough that former allies initially struggle to recognize him. 399 457
Personality
Tang San is calculating, prideful, and intensely controlling. He seeks to turn capable individuals into tools for his own family and lineage, including plans to enslave Chen Ming'er with a mental seal after provoking him. 174 176
His pride is easily wounded by humiliation. He repeatedly adds opponents to his personal “Way of Certain Death” or kill list, including Chen Ming'er and Yu Xiaogang, and responds to setbacks with rage, vindictiveness, and escalating violence. 176 403
As his power grows through devouring other gods, he becomes more paranoid and cruel. He suspects Ma Hongjun of betrayal without evidence, tortures Zhou Weiqing for information and pleasure, and treats the Tang Sect and Spirit Pagoda as private property whose members should submit to him. 400 447
Abilities & Skills
Divine Power Absorption
Tang San increases his accumulated divine power by devouring divine-level beings and their power.
- Devoured the God of Water, the Light God, and other deities, greatly raising his strength. 398 437
- Uses the Rakshasa Trident to drain divine power from opponents, including the Evil and Good God Kings. 462
- Reached peak God King realm after devouring the Old Asura God. 459
- His combat technique does not always match his accumulated power; the Old Asura God judges his actual combat ability to be poor despite his late-stage God King divine power. 459
Divine Power Conversion and Concealment
Tang San can alter and conceal his divine power, making him difficult to track.
- Converted divine power to evade the pursuing God Kings. 384
- Uses the Purple Demon Eye to enhance his mental power and conceal his presence. 381
- Created divine-power clones to confuse the Seven Gods of Original Sin and several pursuing God Kings. 437
- His divine consciousness remains only at the level of an ordinary God King despite his absorbed power. 461
Resurrection and Reappearance
Tang San repeatedly returns after being killed.
- Reappeared behind the Old Asura God after being killed during their battle. 458
- Used repeated deaths and revivals to wear down the Old Asura God and Poseidon. 459
- Continues to respawn after deaths in Chen Ming'er's Colosseum and modified Douluo Continent scenarios. 455 479
Tang Sect Arts
Tang San retains the hidden-weapon and forging techniques of the Tang Sect.
- Uses Hundred Unravelings to manipulate thrown weapons, including the Murder Axe and Zhuge Repeating Crossbow arrows. 286 277
- Employs hidden weapons such as Guanyin's Tears, Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, and god-material projectiles. 450 469
- Uses poisons including Yama's Invitation. 450
- His hidden weapons, poisons, and cultivation arts are ultimately countered by Chen Ming'er, Lan Mengqin, and Bai Xiuxiu. 469
Altered Martial Souls
After Chen Ming'er resets his cultivation, Tang San awakens deliberately altered martial souls.
- Blue Silver Chicken — replaces the Blue Silver Emperor; contains Ah Yin's soul. Its first soul skill is called Blue Silver Entanglement or Mother Chicken Entanglement, but it is frequently evaded or ineffective. 479 483 484 489
- Clear Sky Dog — replaces the Clear Sky Hammer and contains Tang Hao's soul. 479 489
- Eight Spider Lances — contain Bibi Dong's soul and repeatedly poison Tang San instead of reliably attacking his enemies. 479 480 483
Blue Silver Pole Vault
Tang San gains this mobility skill after absorbing the Ten-Year Solitary Bamboo.
- Performs instant, near-teleportation-like leaps to evade attacks. 501
- Can chain the technique into a Double Jump. 500
- The skill allows him to resist pressure that would normally restrict movement. 501
- Its second stage can be interrupted if Tang San is captured before activation. 501
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Rakshasa Trident — Tang San's principal divine artifact after losing his former positions. He forges and upgrades it using divine materials and the bones of Zhou Weiqing, eventually raising it to Quasi-Super Artifact grade. 434 439 447
- Asura Clear Sky Hammer — his life-bound weapon, treated as an extension of himself. 231
- Tang Sect hidden weapons — includes Zhuge Repeating Crossbows, Sand-Shooting Shadow Cannons, Guanyin's Tears, Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, and specialized poisons. 277 450 469
- Ah Yin's soul bone — absorbed after Tang San reports Tang Hao to Spirit Hall during the reset scenario. 502
- Ten-Year Solitary Bamboo soul ring — grants Blue Silver Pole Vault and becomes the focus of Tang San's obsession after Yu Xiaogang repeatedly defeats him with similar bamboo techniques. 500 501
Relationships
- Chen Ming'er — primary enemy and repeated tormentor. Tang San seeks to control or kill him, while Chen Ming'er repeatedly humiliates, defeats, imprisons, and resets Tang San's cultivation. 176 451 479
- Dai Yuhao — son-in-law. Tang San relies on him for divine-artifact crafting and reacts coldly when Dai Yuhao hesitates to sacrifice his Soul Spirits for Tang San's family. 194 231
- Tang Wutong — daughter. Tang San imposes additional restrictions on her to keep her away from Dai Yuhao. 176
- Tang Hao — father. Tang San later clashes with him during the reset scenario and reports him to Spirit Hall. 231 502

- Poseidon and the Old Asura God — predecessors connected to Tang San's former divine positions. Tang San attacks them, repeatedly revives against them, and eventually devours the Old Asura God. 457 459
Story Role / Major Arcs
Conflict with the Castle of Destruction
Tang San attempts to guide and manipulate Chen Ming'er, the child of Destruction and Life, much as he had guided Dai Yuhao. The Seven Gods of Original Sin confront him over these intentions, and Chen Ming'er openly humiliates him instead of submitting. 174 176
After Chen Ming'er's faction captures Tang Hao, Ma Hongjun, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, Oscar, and Ah Yin, Tang San is left primarily dependent on Dai Yuhao while awaiting a chance to respond. 228
Fugitive God King
Tang San escapes pursuit after devouring the Light God's power, using the corpse as a distraction against the God King of Destruction. 383
He continues gathering divine power by hunting gods, torturing Zhou Weiqing, and evading the God Kings through concealment, power conversion, and clones. By this point, he has become a late-stage God King feared even by Chang Gongwei. 400 437
Raids on the Douluo Plane
Unable to attack the heavily guarded God Realm Fortress directly, Tang San enters the Douluo Plane and hunts divine-level powerhouses from the Federation, Spirit Pagoda, Tang Sect, and Shrek Academy. 447
Tang Wulin intervenes when Tang San targets Ling Zichen, beginning a confrontation between father and son. 447
Colosseum Defeat and Reset
Chen Ming'er defeats Tang San's hidden weapons and captures him in a My World Colosseum, disabling his ability to use items, commands, teleportation, attacks, and other permissions. 450 451
After repeated defeats by Qian Renxue, Lan Mengqin, Bai Xiuxiu, and others, Tang San's confidence in Tang Sect weapons, poisons, and techniques collapses. 465 469
Chen Ming'er later resets Tang San to the beginning of martial-soul awakening, replaces his original martial souls with the Blue Silver Chicken and Clear Sky Dog, and forces him through distorted versions of his early Douluo Continent experiences. 479 489
