Background

Long Aotian was the Body Sect's chief disciple before Liu Yuan's arrival. He lived at Tingtao Pavilion, where Liu Yuan was later assigned the neighboring residence. 19 20

When Liu Yuan's talent became apparent, Long Aotian regarded him as a worthy rival rather than resenting him. Liu Yuan's rapid cultivation nevertheless made Long increasingly conscious of the gap between them, driving him to intensify his own training. 16 21 25 31

Long Aotian is intensely competitive, disciplined, and direct. He treats combat as the Body Sect's proper path to improvement, repeatedly challenging Liu Yuan even after witnessing the latter's extraordinary advantages. 41 42

His rivalry with Liu Yuan is not rooted in jealousy. He acknowledges Liu Yuan's strength, turns defeat into motivation, and later shares his own Second Awakening experience to help Liu Yuan prepare for an attempted awakening. 43 74 75

He also displays maturity in recognizing his limits. After Liu Yuan's Gold Grade Second Awakening, Long declines another spar because he no longer considers himself a meaningful test for his junior brother. 149

Long Aotian organized the seven-person Body Sect team tasked with eliminating Evil Soul Masters in Yaluo City. He positioned himself among the front-line defenders and fought using Demon Ape Transformation and Dark Gold Power. 26 27

Two enemies used coordinated evasion to pin him down, but Liu Yuan identified their movement flaws and eliminated them, ending the battle. 27

Rivalry with Liu Yuan

Long challenged Liu Yuan after the latter returned from the Extreme North with a ten-thousand-year third soul ring. Despite using all four of his soul skills, including Mad God Slash, he was defeated by Liu Yuan's counterattack and recovery abilities. 41 42
