Background / History

The High Priest leads Sea God Island’s religious and military hierarchy, standing above the Sacred Pillar Guardians. The position oversees the Sacred Pillars, which preserve the island’s foundation and enable communication with the Sea God’s divine power. When a poisonous legacy threatened Xiaobai and devastated several Sea God Island powerhouses, the High Priest—then in seclusion—ordered that Xiaobai be kept alive regardless of cost. 54

After the continental war and the collapse of faith across the mainland, the High Priest reported the situation to Sea God Tang San. In response to the Sea God’s decree, the High Priest dispatched the seven Sacred Pillar Guardians to suppress Evil Soul Masters, stabilize order, and observe Ye Qingning, while remaining on Sea God Island to guard the sacred land. 234

Following the deaths of Begonia Douluo, Halberd Douluo, and Sea Cucumber Douluo, the High Priest initiated the Sacred Pillar Divine Selection to restore the island’s depleted guardians. Kraken disrupted the ceremony by erasing three candidates, after which the High Priest failed to locate the attacker and imposed the island’s highest level of martial law. The inheritance was eventually renewed through Crayfish Douluo, Dolphin Douluo, and Leaf Sheep Douluo. 241 256

When Coral Douluo sought to resign out of guilt over Dolphin Douluo’s death, the High Priest refused, directing Coral to turn guilt into resolve and continue protecting Sea God Island. Soon afterward, the High Priest received another divine oracle: receive Shrek Academy, grant divine trials, and stabilize the Sea God’s faith anchor points on the continent. 271

To prepare the remaining Sacred Pillars for the urgent mission, the High Priest employed Divine Power Infusion, forcing Coral, Sea Swallow, Conch, and Leaf Sheep from rank 95 to rank 98. The infusion succeeded, but visibly drained the High Priest, who needed pills and prolonged recovery afterward. 273 274

During the assault on Sea God Island, the High Priest pursued Kraken after Leaf Sheep Douluo’s fall, healed Coral, Conch, and Mu Yun with divine power, and directed the defense against the incoming beast tide. In the final battle, the High Priest fought the Demon Empress while relying on the island’s home-field advantage and a divine artifact. Di Tian and the Demon Empress then launched a coordinated surprise attack, inflicting fatal wounds. Before dying, the High Priest named Coral Douluo as the next High Priest. 275 277 283 284

A later holder, the Conch High Priest, received Shrek representatives investigating Blue King and promptly mobilized Sea God Island’s intelligence network. The former High Priest is resolute, demanding, and deeply committed to Sea God Island’s survival. He could be compassionate toward wounded allies, but treated retreat from duty as cowardice; his guidance to Coral Douluo emphasized responsibility, vengeance, and atonement rather than absolution. 271 276

He was also pragmatic in crisis. He accepted the risks of forcibly advancing the Sacred Pillars, ordered withdrawal rather than reckless battle if Kraken intercepted them, and entrusted Coral with leadership even while dying. 273 274 284

The later Conch High Priest is notably controlled and guarded. She deals calmly with visitors and commands the island’s intelligence apparatus efficiently, but concealed crucial information from Titan before proposing cooperation with him. 372 427 428
