Polnareff was clearly taken aback when he saw this.
As mentioned before, Polnareff had wandered into an abandoned ancient temple while chasing a dog.
According to what Joseph had said earlier, in Ancient Egyptian legend, the Nile River divided the realms of the living and the dead. Where the sun set was the eternal resting place of the souls of the deceased—in modern terms, the west.
Thus, Egyptian towns built along the Nile were generally located on its eastern bank.
The west, meanwhile, was mostly occupied by graveyards and temples used to worship the dead.
It was not entirely uninhabited, of course, but encountering someone in this abandoned temple still felt rather eerie.
Especially since there was clearly something off about the man's appearance. He was tall and powerfully built, with solid muscles, and his entire body radiated an intense killing intent.
Polnareff observed him briefly and noticed that although the man stood in the shadows cast by the temple pillars, his eyes remained fixed squarely on him. Unlike the hostile Stand Users he had faced before, this man seemed to have no intention of concealing his intentions.
He could not even be bothered to hide his weapon.
He was openly holding a sword and shield, staring him down.
"You've got more nerve than I expected."
Seeing this, Polnareff had more or less guessed the other man's identity. "You actually dared to expose your Main Body and challenge me directly. What a manly spirit. I thought there were no enemies like that left these days..."

"State your name."
