After the little beggar sat down, she was still visibly uneasy and didn't dare eat. Tang Yu smiled and said, "Go ahead. Eat as much as you like. If it's not enough, we can order more."

The little beggar glanced at Tang Yu, then at the waiter, and finally at the plates of meat. She swallowed and immediately reached out to grab the food with her hand.

Tang Yu was startled and quickly grabbed the little beggar's hand. She flinched and tried to pull away. Tang Yu said, "Don't use your hands. They're not clean. Here, use a fork."

Afraid the little beggar wouldn't know how to use chopsticks, Tang Yu handed her a fork. She picked it up, glanced at Tang Yu, and immediately speared a piece of meat. When he didn't stop her, she took a big bite.

Seeing that the little beggar had started eating, Tang Yu picked up his chopsticks and began eating too. The waiter couldn't stand there watching the customers eat forever, so he left.

Before long, Tang Yu realized that the little beggar seemed to have a bottomless stomach. She ate all the meat dishes on the table by herself. Tang Yu smiled wryly. "How long have you been hungry?"

Seeing that the little beggar could still eat, Tang Yu simply stopped eating and watched her. She devoured everything that remained in no time. Tang Yu stared in surprise, then asked, "Want some more?"

The little beggar looked at Tang Yu and, after a moment, nodded.

Tang Yu ordered another identical spread, but the little beggar finished it in no time. Seeing how she still seemed to want more, he ordered another tableful. After she finished that, the little beggar let out a burp. Tang Yu smiled wryly. "Your stomach really is like a bottomless cave. Are you full now?"

The little beggar nodded. Tang Yu went to the proprietor to settle the bill. The three meals had cost ten gold coins. After paying, he returned to the little beggar and asked, "You don't have anywhere to stay, do you? Why not come with me from now on? I'll make sure you eat well and drink well."

A glimmer appeared in the little beggar's eyes, and she nodded.

The inn had rooms available, so Tang Yu rented one and asked the waiter to bring up a large tub of water. The little beggar would be staying with him from now on, and of course the first thing to do was get her cleaned up.

In the room, Tang Yu tested the water. It was neither too hot nor too cold. He looked at the little beggar and said, "Take off your clothes."

The little beggar's face instantly turned bright red, though Tang Yu couldn't see it through all the grime on her face. When she still didn't take off her clothes, he said again, "The water's going to get cold. Hurry up and take your clothes off."

The little beggar gritted her teeth, then took off her clothes. When Tang Yu saw her body, he blurted out, "Holy crap!" and rushed straight out of the room. His face was still bright red once he was outside. Thinking back to what he'd just seen, he felt like some kind of lecherous old man.

"Oh my goodness, why didn't I ask first? The little beggar is actually a girl..." Tang Yu said, covering his face with one hand. He felt that his good reputation had been ruined forever.

Watching Tang Yu rush out, the little beggar gave a sweet smile. Everything Tang Yu had done and said that day had now filled the empty space in her heart.
