Tang Yu waved his hand and said, "Go, go, go, everyone get back to what you were doing."
After saying that, Tang Yu pulled Tang Xiaomi over to his bedside. There were still two empty beds in the work-study dormitory, so Tang Yu had Tang Xiaomi sit down first before dragging one of the beds over next to his own.
The others all returned to their own beds to sleep, and Tang San and Xiao Wu also laid down, though Xiao Wu kept herself between the two of them.
Tang Yu and Tang Xiaomi each lay on their own side, and Tang Yu spoke up, "Xiaomi, hurry up and go to sleep."
Tang Xiaomi nodded slightly, then suddenly darted over to Tang Yu's bed, grabbed his arm, and rested her little head on his shoulder.
Tang Yu was instantly dumbfounded. Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
Feeling the warmth of Tang Xiaomi's body, Tang Yu swallowed hard and didn't close his eyes for the entire night, while Tang Xiaomi slept very soundly; it was the most comfortable sleep she had ever had.
Early the next morning
Tang Yu got up sporting a pair of dark circles under his eyes. Everyone in Dormitory Seven looked at Tang Yu with smiles on their faces, and Tang San also patted Tang Yu on the shoulder with a laugh, saying, "Brother, you didn't sleep well last night, did you?"
"What do you think..." Tang Yu said with a yawn.
Tang San held back his laughter and said, "Brother, you'll get used to it eventually."
Tang Yu: "..."
Over the next few days, Tang Yu couldn't take it anymore; not sleeping every day was going to be the death of him! Tang Yu made a decision: since Tang Xiaomi was so bold, why should he, a man, be afraid of anything? He simply closed his eyes and fell fast asleep.
The relationship between the two rose in a straight line. Aside from going to the bathroom, they were basically inseparable. The academy teachers were helpless when they saw this; there was nothing they could do, as both were geniuses of the academy, and it was impossible to expel them.
After school, those teachers would often chat with friends and say, "You might not believe this, but I get fed dog food at school every single day! And it's by two first-year kids, for crying out loud... Sigh, when I think about how I'm still single, I just feel miserable..."
One year later
A semester had come to an end, and this was the day to return home. Tang Yu and Tang Xiaomi didn't have much to pack, so they planned to leave once Tang San finished tidying up. Before leaving, however, Tang San asked Xiao Wu where she would be spending the break, and Xiao Wu told Tang San she would be staying at the academy.
Then, just as in the original story, Tang San invited Xiao Wu to visit Holy Soul Village, and Xiao Wu agreed without the slightest hesitation.
The four of them then walked together in the direction of Holy Soul Village. Holy Soul Village was neither too far nor too close to Nuoding City, but by the afternoon, the four of them finally arrived.
The four arrived at the blacksmith shop, where Old Jack was currently cleaning up. Seeing that Tang Yu and Tang San had returned, Old Jack said with pleasant surprise, "Xiao Yu, Xiao San, you're back!"
"Grandpa Jack, why are you here? Where is my dad?" Tang San asked, stunned for a moment.
Tang Yu looked around and said, "Dad must have left a long time ago."
Tang San asked in surprise, "What! What is going on here?"
Old Jack took out a letter and handed it to Tang San, saying, "Here, this is the letter Tang Hao left for you two. Read it slowly; I'll be going now."
After saying this, Old Jack left the blacksmith shop.
Tang San immediately opened the letter and began to read. After finishing it, he looked dazed for a moment before handing the letter to Tang Yu.
