Background / History

Life as a beggar

Tang Xiaomi first appears as an unnamed little beggar. After Tang Yu bathes her, her clean appearance reveals crystal-clear skin, short hair, and an especially adorable face. When she says she has no name, Tang Yu gives her the name Tang Xiaomi and buys her new clothes. She immediately becomes attached to him, holding his hand as they leave together. 17

At six years old, she had never undergone a martial soul awakening. Tang Yu brings her to the Martial Soul Hall, where her martial soul initially appears to be an ordinary little white snake. 18

Enrollment and concealed identity

Her test reveals Innate Full Soul Power, prompting Ma Xiunuo to attempt to recruit her into the Martial Soul Hall. She looks to Tang Yu for her answer, and he declines on her behalf. 19

Tang Yu arranges her enrollment at Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy through Yu Xiaogang. To avoid attention, he instructs her to call her martial soul the Nine Seas White Snake until it fully transforms, despite her identifying it as the Nine Seas White Dragon. She joins Dormitory Seven and remains at Tang Yu’s side. 19

Tang Yu later learns that Xiaomi is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast with no memories of her former life. Her true form is an Eastern dragon species that has never appeared in Douluo Continent’s recorded history. 21

Shrek Academy

After graduating from the junior academy, Tang Xiaomi travels with Tang Yu, Tang San, and Xiao Wu to Shrek Academy. By this point, she and Tang Yu are described as a romantic couple. 22

She qualifies for Shrek as a level 29 Soul Grand Master and shares a room with Tang Yu after enrollment. 27 33

In the Star Dou Forest, Xiaomi insists on accompanying Tang Yu and Tang San while Tang San searches for a third soul ring. She later condenses her own third soul ring alongside Xiao Wu, completing the process in only ten minutes. 46 47

Tang Xiaomi is a small, white-haired childlike girl whose appearance changes dramatically after she is cleaned and given proper clothing. Her martial soul commonly manifests as a small white snake coiled around her arm. 17 27

She is openly forward about her feelings, saying she wants to marry Tang Yu when she grows up and repeatedly insisting on sleeping beside him. Their closeness later becomes an openly romantic relationship. 18 20 22
