The faint sound made Kakashi spring to his feet, the kunai in his hand already held across his chest defensively.

Once he saw who it was, he asked in confusion, "Tea... Teacher? Why are you here so late?"

The cloak and conical hat, such formal attire, immediately put Kakashi on alert. "Did something happen, Lord Hokage?"

Namikaze Minato nodded slightly. "I just received intelligence that an enemy plans to release the Nine Tails tomorrow, and one of the enemy's abilities... is the Mangekyō Sharingan."

Kakashi was somewhat dazed. He even raised a hand to his Headband, beneath which lay Obito's eye.

Watching this scene, Minato hesitated before speaking. After a sigh, he said, "Time is tight. We need to make a trip to the Uchiha Compound. I'll tell you about the enemy's intelligence and where I need your help along the way."

Space-Time Ninjutsu Talent and Flying Thunder God were a set in themselves. Though Flying Thunder God could be acquired from more than just Minato, Namiashi Raidō and the other two current Hokage guards definitely had it as well.

But just as with Minato's previous situation, Yun did not dare gamble.

Originally, if tonight's first transaction had not gone smoothly, Yun planned to join Teuchi during the Nine Tails Incident and use Teuchi's supporting-character fate to survive the disaster.

But now that his first transaction with Namikaze Minato had gone very smoothly, he could not leave everything to luck.

Outside the Uchiha Compound, Minato stopped with Kakashi.

"Kakashi, do you think... we should bring a fruit basket or something?"

Kakashi was still in shock. The amount of information his teacher had given him along the way had simply been too much.

His left eye, the one Obito had left behind, was a Mangekyō Sharingan? In legend, Madara Uchiha had used this kind of eye to control the Nine Tails. Did that power have something to do with the abnormality back then?

"Smack!"

Kakashi was brought back to his senses by a pat. He looked at Minato speechlessly. "Teacher, where are we supposed to buy a fruit basket at this hour? Besides, didn't you say it yourself? We don't have much time."

Scratching his head, Minato smiled. "Fugaku's younger son was born. That little guy who shares the same name as Lord Third's father is there, so I thought I should buy a fruit basket."

Kakashi rubbed his mask. "Teacher, do you really think a child who isn't even a year old would still be awake at this hour?"

"Whoosh!"

A figure in a jonin Flak Jacket appeared and bowed slightly. "Lord Hokage, has something happened for you to visit so late at night?"

Minato wore an apologetic expression. "I'm truly sorry to disturb you so late, but there is indeed an urgent matter for which I hope to receive Captain Fugaku's help. Is he asleep?"

The Uchiha jonin shook his head. "The captain is still at the Konoha Military Police Force because things have been... rather busy lately. Come, I'll take you in, so that..."

The three then headed toward the Konoha Military Police Force, but Minato heard a great deal in that Uchiha jonin's unfinished words.

But if an Uchiha would hesitate to speak before the Hokage himself, how could he be serving in the Konoha Military Police Force?

"Captain, the Hokage has come to visit."

When the door opened, Fugaku looked slightly surprised. Still, he bowed. "Lord Hokage."

After thinking for a moment, Minato said with a smile, "I came so late because I need Big Brother Fugaku's help, so... could I trouble you to call Shisui Uchiha here first?"

Fugaku froze at those words and looked toward the Uchiha jonin who had been preparing to leave.

The Hokage had specifically asked to see Shisui, yet did not know Shisui? Although Shisui had earned the title Body Flicker Shisui during the Third Shinobi War, Namikaze Minato had only become the Fourth Hokage after Shisui returned to the Konoha Military Police Force.

But... what matter required both himself and Shisui?

(Itachi awakened the Two Tomoe at the age of eight, more than two years later. After his teammate died, he and Shisui took part in a training mission. Here, it is set after he left the Konoha Military Police Force.)

(By the same logic, Shisui's death delayed the rebellion by two years. Working backward from the clan massacre at age thirteen, Shisui died when Itachi was eleven. The training mission took place two years after Itachi was eight, so in this secondary setting, Shisui had already awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.)
