Al Swan felt something was wrong. The unease and agitation within him grew stronger by the moment, all because he knew that Alex was Music Hero.
He had made more than twenty calls to Mark without getting through. And whenever a call did connect, the moment he was about to say Alex's name, the communication would immediately fail.
Al Swan did not believe it was a problem with the wireless service provider.
It had happened too suddenly.
Somehow, he instead felt as if someone had set their sights on him, just like when he had hunted down cunning drug dealers who, even at death's door, wanted to drag him into hell with them.
"It's Alex! Damn it, this is too fast... How did he cut off my phone communications?!"
Al Swan gritted his teeth, dark fury clouding his face as veins throbbed faintly at his temples. He knew Alex had studied computer repair and mechanical engineering applications in college and held two doctorates, but he had never expected Alex to cut off his communications in such a short time.
That took no small amount of hacking skill.
A shadow passed through Al Swan's heart. He did not want it to be Alex; on the contrary, he hoped it was a malfunction by the communications provider. Yet no matter how uneasy he felt, Alex's detestably handsome face kept surfacing in his mind, weighing on his heart like a boulder.
Al Swan anxiously slammed down on the accelerator, pushing the Ford Mercury past a hundred kilometers per hour. This was the road leading to the sea bridge, crowded with traffic. Weaving through the flow of cars at over a hundred kilometers per hour was already the fastest he could go.
Every pore on Al Swan's body seemed to burst with burning impatience.
