This was the day the Empire's rising star, Wharton, became engaged to Nina. One was the younger brother of a peak Saint Realm powerhouse, and the other was the emperor's daughter. The engagement celebration drew an enormous crowd.
The Earl's Mansion was filled with joy, and the road outside was jammed with carriages. They nearly blocked off most of Fushi Road. The nobles' guards and servants weren't allowed inside the mansion and had to wait outside. There were several thousand of them in all.
The place was packed!
The carriages were more lavish than the last, and the noblewomen and young ladies were dressed in stunning gowns that drew every eye. An engagement banquet at the Earl's Mansion was one of the grandest gatherings in noble society. Everyone who came was someone of importance.
Hodan, the Plane Overseer, made his appearance as well. He intended to persuade Linley and Hogg to go to Hell.
"Hodan—" Kolan appeared.
"Lord Kolan!" Hodan's expression changed, and he hurriedly bowed.
"The Baruch Clan has ties to me. Leave," Kolan said indifferently.
"Yes, Lord Kolan!" Hodan replied respectfully. He didn't dare linger and left at once.
"Lord Kolan!" Hogg was overcome with excitement and delight. He hurried forward and bowed. "Linley, Wharton, come over here!"
"All right, there's no need for formalities." Kolan smiled, took out two Space Rings, and tossed them to Hogg and Wharton. "These two Space Rings are gifts for you."
"My lord, these are far too precious." Hogg felt uneasy accepting them.
He knew just how valuable a Space Ring was.
After all, he still didn't have one himself.
"Don't worry. I have plenty of Space Rings," Kolan said with a faint smile.
