On the Yulan Continent.
The magic of none of the seven elements—earth, fire, water, wind, lightning, light, and darkness—could match the power of three other kinds of magic.
These three kinds of magic were the Fate Law, which the Radiant Pope excelled at; the Life Magic of the legendary High Priest, the strongest person in the Yulan Empire; and, last but not least, the extremely rare Necromancy.
Very few people on the Yulan Continent knew any of these three kinds of magic.
Kolan knew that the magic of the seven elements—earth, fire, water, wind, lightning, light, and darkness—had been created by the Sovereigns to gain Power of Faith. They had simplified and explained the Elemental Laws, then compiled them into magic.
As for the Fate Law, it was actually magic related to the Fate Law. More precisely, Life Magic was magic related to the Life Law, while Necromancy was related to the Death Rules.
Of the Four Rules—the Fate Law, Life Law, and Death Rules all had related magic. Only the Destruction Law had none.
Moreover, those who cultivated the Destruction Law were exceedingly rare. At least, in Kolan's memories, there were no Saint-level experts currently cultivating it.
Previously, although Kolan had practiced Life Magic, he hadn't even taken his first step toward understanding the Life Law.
To put it simply, he'd been like a Saint Warrior who had reached the level of Momentum but hadn't comprehended any Laws and Profound Mysteries.
But now, he had made contact with the Life Law.
Even though he'd only just touched upon it, Kolan's perspective had suddenly broadened, as though he'd encountered a wondrous world connected to life.
Before, he'd comprehended the Death Rules. Now, he'd comprehended the Life Law.
The feeling was truly strange.
Unlike the Death Rules, the Life Law focused more on vitality.
Of course, the two also had something in common: both excelled at matters of the soul. Of the Four Rules, however, the Death Rules were the strongest in that regard.
Kolan even discovered that within his Soul Ocean, the Death Rules had taken the form of a black scythe, while the Life Law had manifested as a scepter. Their auras were diametrically opposed.
Before, he hadn't comprehended the Life Law, and there had been no scepter in his Soul Ocean.
"The Life Law really is wondrous. My vitality has increased by at least thirty percent." Kolan opened his eyes, wonder in his gaze.
He'd only comprehended a little of the Life Law related to life, yet his vitality had increased by thirty percent. It was simply inconceivable.
If he fully comprehended this aspect of the Law, and the Life Law reached Low-God level, just how powerful would his vitality become?
By then, even if a Saint attacked him at will, they probably wouldn't be able to hurt him.
Kolan didn't leave in a hurry. Instead, he carefully reviewed his combat techniques.
Life Magic could summon giant trees and vines to attack enemies, but there was no doubt that such magic was useless against a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus.
To fight a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus, he still had to rely on close combat.
Magic attacks would probably only tickle it. They couldn't even break through its scales.
The same went for undead lifeforms. Even the most powerful Saint-level Undead Lifeform, one comparable to a Saint-level peak expert, might not be able to hurt a Saint-level Tyrannosaurus.
Ten days later, Kolan sought out the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus again.
"Human Kolan, what are you here for this time?" the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus roared.
Its previous injuries had healed, and it had recovered from the exhaustion.
The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus was now back at its peak.
"Puterode, let's fight again today," Kolan said with a faint smile.
"You're pushing me too far!" the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus bellowed.
It had already given the fight everything it had and still hadn't managed to kill Kolan.
If it tried again, how could it possibly succeed?
Kolan was bullying it!
"If you've got the guts, fight me head-on!" Puterode roared.
At the same time, the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus's tail whipped toward Kolan with a whoosh.
It had taken the chance to launch a sneak attack. The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus was undeniably cunning.
"Why wouldn't I dare fight you head-on?" Kolan flashed aside, dodging the sweep of its tail.
Then he brought his sword down on the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus.
A look of disdain flashed in the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus's eyes. Kolan's previous attacks had only managed to inflict wounds about ten centimeters deep. Its scales, however, were a full sixty centimeters thick.
A single attack couldn't even break through its scales, let alone pose any real threat.
Among the dragon race, the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus had the most terrifying scale defense. Even the Black Dragon's scales were far inferior.
It was also exceptionally strong.
"The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus's strength is truly terrifying. No wonder it's called a tyrannosaurus!" In their head-on clash, Kolan's sword shattered only one scale and left a wound about ten centimeters deep. The tyrannosaurus, however, hadn't shed a single drop of blood.
Instead, the terrifying force sent him flying.
The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus really was terrifying!
"Roar!" The tyrannosaurus let out an angry growl. Its terrifying voice was confined within the narrow area and struck straight at Kolan.
The awful sound made Kolan's ears ring. Immediately afterward, the tyrannosaurus charged at him in a frenzy.
The earth shook.
Kolan's expression turned solemn.
The tyrannosaurus's roar carried a spiritual attack.
Thanks to his Soul Mutation, his soul power had greatly increased. An ordinary Saint Warrior would probably lose focus at the sound, then be killed by the tyrannosaurus.
Kolan didn't dodge. He fought the tyrannosaurus face-to-face.
Even as he was thoroughly outmatched, he didn't retreat.
"Damn human Kolan, you're downright abnormal! No matter how badly you're hurt, you recover in the blink of an eye!" Disbelief showed in the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus's eyes.
Kolan had clearly taken a direct blow from its tail. He'd been sent flying and had spat blood. It had been certain that even if he didn't die, he'd be gravely wounded.
But in the blink of an eye, Kolan seemed as good as new.
He was downright uncanny!
"Puterode, enough talk. Come again!" Kolan charged the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus once more.
"I refuse to believe I can't kill you!" the Saint-level Tyrannosaurus roared.
"Roar!" In an instant, the earth seemed to shake.
At the same time, gray mist appeared from nowhere, instantly shrouding the entire area within several hundred meters, Kolan included.
"Pfft!" Kolan was struck and sent flying. His whole body felt as though it had fallen apart.
His blood churned, and he spat out mouthfuls of blood.
But the vitality within him was rapidly healing his injuries.
Kolan was like a little bug that wouldn't die. The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus clearly had the upper hand, yet it simply couldn't kill him.
And this was happening in a head-on fight.
The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus was both baffled and furious. What was wrong with this human? It had lived for so many years and never seen such a strange one.
A body as powerful as a Saint-level magical beast's, terrifying powers of recovery, and the ability to use two different kinds of energy at once.
The Saint-level Tyrannosaurus attacked Kolan without pause, determined to kill him and eat him.
But no matter what, it just couldn't kill Kolan.
