Background / History
Sovereigns originate from the refinement of Sovereign Divine Sparks. There are seventy-seven Sovereign Sparks across the Seven Elemental Laws and Four Rules, limiting the total number of Sovereign clones in existence; however, many Sovereigns have died over time and their Sparks have changed owners. A single individual can possess multiple Sovereign clones. 104 114
The seven Sovereigns of each Elemental Law jointly created the Seven Divine Planes under the orders of the Four Supreme Gods. Material Planes are the fundamental worlds that produce ordinary life and, through worship, Power of Faith. 152
Sovereigns established the Sovereign Covenant after earlier eras of frequent Sovereign conflict and widespread distribution of Sovereign Artifacts. The covenant prohibits stronger Sovereigns from wantonly killing weaker Sovereigns who have not provoked them. 150 172
Power & Authority
Sovereign Power and Willpower
Refining a Sovereign Spark grants Sovereign Power and a portion of Willpower. A Sovereign with multiple Sovereign avatars gains additional Willpower, while reaching Sovereign Perfection grants another portion. 141
- A Sovereign's divine sense can cover an entire Divine Realm. 151
- Sovereign Power cannot be directly drawn from the Ocean of Divine Power by a Paragon High-God. 103
- Nether Stones contain traces of Sovereign Power because they are created by Sovereigns. 103
- Fused Life and Death Sovereign Power can strengthen a body to the level of a Sovereign Artifact, an effect ordinary single-attribute Sovereign Power cannot achieve. 141
Creation of Divine Planes
A Sovereign Spark inherently enables its refiner to create a Divine Plane by activating the Rules contained within the Spark. The process is described as a gift of the heavens rather than a learned technique. 141
- Divine Planes can aid a Sovereign's comprehension and fusion of Laws and Rules. 141
- Sovereigns may create and rule their own Divine Planes. 141 159
Sovereign Artifacts
Sovereigns can forge and bestow Sovereign Artifacts, including physical-attack, physical-defense, and soul-defense types. Soul-defense artifacts are particularly rare because they require high attainments in soul research to create. 39 78
- A Sovereign may bestow one Sovereign Artifact upon an envoy under the stated rules between Sovereigns. 78
- A Physical Defense Sovereign Artifact can prevent a Sovereign Perfection High-God from killing its bearer, though the bearer may still be banished. 78
- The Sovereign Covenant generally restricts artifact bestowal to envoys and close kin; others are expected to earn artifacts through Plane War merits. 150
Sovereign Envoys
Sovereign Envoys act on behalf of their Sovereigns, including in Material Planes that Sovereigns cannot freely enter. A Paragon High-God envoy is especially valuable due to their ability to handle matters beyond a Sovereign's direct reach. 105
- An envoy is ordinarily treated as a servant, though exceptional envoys may receive unusual privileges and rewards. 78 257
- Paragon High-Gods may be treated with courtesy by Sovereigns and need only bow rather than kneel. 103 104
- A Sovereign may offer an envoy a choice of artifact type, Overgod Power, or an Overgod Token. 78 258
Restrictions and Laws
- Sovereigns cannot ordinarily enter Material Planes; their projections there possess strength equivalent to a Seven-Star Fiend. 105
- A Sovereign may enter their own birth Material Plane despite the general restriction. 145
- Killing the child of a Sovereign can provoke retaliation severe enough that even a Sovereign Perfection High-God may be forced to hide permanently in a Material Plane. 116
- Sovereigns of the same tier of strength may fight, but a stronger Sovereign is forbidden from wantonly killing a weaker, non-provocative one; violations are subject to pursuit by the Four Rule Sovereigns. 172
- A Sovereign who kills another may obtain their Sovereign Spark, increasing their Willpower. 172
