1046: Resolving to Act
"Your father is inside. Since you've put it that way, I'll come along too."
As soon as the two of them entered, Itachi spotted Fugaku, who was handling clan affairs.
"Father, something terrible has happened in the clan. The Great Elder and the others are planning a rebellion."
"What!"
Fugaku Uchiha nearly flipped his desk, while Mikoto stared at Itachi in disbelief.
"Itachi! Do you know what you're saying? Are you sure?" Fugaku asked, his expression grave.
He knew his son wouldn't lie, even though he was only five or six years old.
Itachi nodded. "I heard it with my own ears. The Great Elder and the other four elders decided to find a way to close the Portal. Once it's closed, they'll put their rebellion plan into action."
Fugaku's expression turned complicated. "They really are going to do it!"
I should execute these elders. The thought had been circling in Fugaku's mind for days.
The conflict within the clan had grown worse, and the elders had been reaching further and further into its affairs.
