When he heard that reinforcements had arrived, Minato stopped worrying about whether they would have dinner and quickly asked, "Who's coming to reinforce us?"
Jiraiya listed the clan heads one by one. "So far, we've only spotted these few. There may be others, and the Kage Level reinforcements from the other villages should be arriving soon, too. We can pay them a visit tomorrow morning."
"Good!" Minato had no objections, and Yahiko and Konan nodded in agreement as well.
As for Kushina, she was busy climbing the ranks and had no time to concern herself with any of this.
But her hunger was starting to affect her performance, and she couldn't help complaining, "Jiraiya, how come you still haven't brought dinner back?"
She switched off her phone and turned around, only to find Jiraiya already in the room. "Oh! You're back, Jiraiya. Why didn't you tell me? Now this is awkward."
She said it was awkward, but she didn't feel that way at all. That was just how easygoing Kushina was; she never made a big deal out of little things.
After spending so many days together, she'd found that Jiraiya was actually pretty easy to get along with. The others all got along well, too.
Aside from Jiraiya being a bit of a lecher, they were all pretty great.
"Kushina, Jiraiya didn't actually buy dinner. He ran into the reinforcements from Konoha and was chatting with them at the door."
"Ah..." Kushina's expression immediately turned miserable. "But I'm really hungry."
Jiraiya thumped his chest. "Don't worry, dinner will be here soon. I've already spoken to Big Brother Torifu. It's just that there won't be anything new on the menu today."
Kushina could accept that. After eating a piece of beef jerky Minato handed her, she got back to climbing
