Next, everyone sat around chatting. Kushina and Minato Namikaze talked about their son.
They still had some disagreement over his surname.
Kushina wanted the child to take the Namikaze name. After all, it was Konoha's longstanding tradition.
But Minato wanted the child to take the Uzumaki name and be called Naruto Uzumaki.
Torifu saw that the two of them had been agonizing over it for ages without reaching any conclusion.
So he simply settled it for them. "He'll be Naruto Uzumaki. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about."
The couple looked at Torifu, then exchanged a glance and nodded. "All right, then. Naruto Uzumaki it is."
The decision was made rather hastily. Torifu hadn't actually meant to interfere; he'd just tossed out a suggestion, and it turned out to be a good name.
"All right, Biwako. I'll come see you again later. We have some things to discuss."
Biwako naturally knew a little about what was going on, and she'd long since gotten used to this sort of thing.
Konoha was going through a difficult time. Planning its reconstruction after the disaster was an exhausting task.
