If Torifu could renovate the Otherworld, that would certainly be nice. Then Chirori might feel like visiting someday. But for now, that was out of the question.
The air there was thick with oppression.
Chirori didn't like it much.
More importantly, her counterpart in the Otherworld was dead, too.
Her father, her brother, her sister-in-law, her nephew, her niece—they were all dead.
That broken world held no appeal for her.
Whenever she thought about it, the pain kept her awake at night.
Thankfully, everything in her own world was perfect. She had a loving family and plenty of friends.
She and her husband were very much in love, and their son was bright and considerate.
"Enough, enough. I was just saying it offhand. It's almost noon. What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
Torifu kissed Chirori on the forehead. "I like anything you make, but braised pork would be especially nice."
Chirori tapped Torifu on the nose. "All right, all right. I'll go buy some meat. You just wait."
With that, Chirori left.
A few minutes later, Orochimaru came out of the house. Seeing Torifu sitting alone in a lounge chair, he went over to him.
"Hokage Torifu, you're incredibly powerful. So why do you seem so relaxed every day?"
Torifu glanced up at Orochimaru, then took out a new chair and placed it beside him.
"Sit down. We can talk."
Orochimaru raised an eyebrow and sat.
"I'm retired now. I just enjoy my life every day. I've handed all the village's affairs over to Minato, so of course I have plenty of time to relax."
"Oh? You're really willing to entrust the village to a young man?"
